Ok, a little mid-week fun to take the edge off...

By now, we have all heard Rex Ryan's "kick BB's ass" comments, but just to refresh your memory:

"As much as I respect and admire Bill Belichick, I came here to kick his ass, and that's the truth. That's just the way it is," Ryan said.

-----------------------------------------------

Here are Belichick's responses, with the "what he really meant" in paranthesis!

-----------------------------------------------

When BB says:

"They're a real impressive team. Rex has done a real good job with the makeup of the team and the way that they've performed and come through in a lot of clutch situations."

BB means:

("Rex MUST be a great coach to win with that band of loudmouths and idiots")

-----------------------------------------------

When BB says:

"Whether it's been offense, defense, special teams, they've been able to make the plays that they need to make to win."

BB means:

("Is this the luckiest friggin' team you have ever seen or what?")

-----------------------------------------------

Bill was then told of Rex's "kick ass" comment.

When BB says:

"Sure, that's understandable. There's no love lost out there between those two teams. We both want to win. That's what we're here for, Jets and the Patriots. I mean, both teams are walking out onto the field to come out victorious."

BB means:

("Why do I have to explain this stuff to you jackasses every week? After all the years you have been covering this team, you should know I am all about talking football and could not care less about all this other stupid babble!")

-----------------------------------------------

Belichick was then asked if he was amused by Rex Ryan.

When BB says:

"I don't really worry about everybody else. I'm trying to get this team ready to play. I'm not surprised that they expect to win and that they're confident they're going to win."

BB means:

("Amused by him? No. What will be amusing, though, is how I wipe up the field with that fat-ass piece of cr@p. You want amusing? Look at Coach Whopper's face after we finish with the Jets on Monday night. That'll be amusing.")

Funny! I literally LOL'ed!

That is halarious!

I'm betting BB really thinks like this in the back of his mind, but we know he has to be a professional to the media.

Thanks. Glad you guys enjoyed it!

I do wonder if he really thinks these types of things. He is so unfailingly professional.

I would love to see him write a book after he retires about all the things he kept to himself over the years from working under the Tuna to what he really thinks of Goodell to the inside scoop on player situations that have been kept in house (ie, Adalius Thomas, Asante Samuel & Logan Mankins).

Hope I have to wait a LONG time for that post-retirement book, though!

Everytime BB gives one of his patent answers I always think in the back of my mind what hes really thinking, this was spot on

Whever BB waxes poetic about an opponent and says something like, "They are a really good team, in all phases of the game, and we are going to have our hands full on Sunday..."

I always think he's secretly thinking, "Ha. I have found their weakness and I am going to crush them with it on Sunday."

:)

"It is what it is" means, "It is what it is."

"We just need to play better and coach better" means, "I'm pissed and I'm not telling you a goddamn thing."

"He has a sore leg and will be day to day" means, "The MRI showed a first-degree tear in the medial collateral ligament. He'll be placed on IR this Wednesday at 4 p.m."

"Rex has done a good job with that team" means, "I can't say anything even remotely inflammatory, like I wish that flatulent gasbag would light up like the Hindenburg."

LOL! Totally accurate, especially about the injuires! LOL!

I have learned when Belichick says someone is "day-to-day" or has a "sore" anything, I just drop him from my Fantasy Team right then and there because the player is going on IR within a few weeks!

What I would give to hear him say those exact words at the podium. Could you imagine the looks on the faces of the media(and us fans for that matter)?

:eek::eek: DID HE JUST SAY THAT!!!????:eek::eek:

I would sleep outside the bookstore like the people who wait for the next Harry Potter iteration for that book. I really would.

Lol! No doubt. That would be a good one.

Too bad Dave Halberstam passed on. he would have been the perfect guy to write it!

Just got another Belichickian tidbit...

"Stephen Neal has been sore for a couple of games now"

neal goes on IR on 12/02/10.

The master of skullduggery and slight of hand!!

Glad he's ours!
