Flipping through the channels yesterday and saw their top 6 teams in the NFL. Guess what the pats were? Trick question they were not. Their top 6 was:
Jets
Chargers
Saints
Steelers
Eagles
Ravens

Thought it was pretty amazing considering the Pats have a better record then 5 of the teams and have beaten 3 of them.

It's all good. It just sets up the Jets for a greater fall when they start imploding on Monday night.

Funny. I was doing the same thing and also noticed the Pats weren't on the list. I found it amusing. I guess that's why the show is on the air during Monday Night Football - when no one is watching.

People on this board still seem to be waiting for an implosion that no longer seems likely. Weren't the Jets supposed to implode after the third or fourth game this season? Sorry guys . . . it just hasn't happened.

As for the list, I say 'Ah well.' Who cares. Haven't we all learned by now that those lists mean nothing? I only care that the team keeps winning while continuing to learn and mature. I like our chances against any of the other 31 teams in the league, regardless of where they show up on all of these stupid lists. Our coach and QB are legendary and our young defense gets a little better with each week. I like the Pats.

True, however if it wasn't for fluke, crappy offence/defence play calls, they would have been well on their way. They just aren't what there record shows.

We'll find out Monday night. If the Pats win, they will have beaten 4 of the 6 teams on that list. They can leave us off all the way to the Superbowl, as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully our boys bring their A+ game on Monday night.

Billick and Mora Jr? Gee, wonder why those guys got fired.

I saw that too, without any sound, so I have no idea what they were saying or if they explained the obvious gaffe.

Did they address their reasons for leaving the Pats off the list?

Normally I don't care about power ranking stuff but when a team has the best record in the league this late in the season and not in somebody's top 6, something's very wrong. And yeah, we've beaten 4 of those teams

I was watching it and found it amusing that we weren't in their top 5, then I noticed it was their top 6 and I actually got quite annoyed.

Power Rankings generally don't annoy me, but the yearly practice of overrating San Diego, and forgetting everything they have previously failed to achieve, does annoy me.

San Diego may only be 6-5, but look at the quality of their wins: Jax, Arizona, Tenn, @Hou, Denver, @Indy.

Okay, I'm a Jets fan and even I declare this stupid. What is the world coming to?

This list is B.S, two of the best teams with the best records in the NFL aren't on that list. Pats and Falcons should be on that list, but who cares its Billick and Mora, both which sucked as coaches.

To be honest, i am glad that the Pats are not on the radar screen.

At the same time, I hope the team takes this as a mark of disrespect and play with more fire to blow away every opponent from next Monday to the 2013 SB. :)

Are you sure that the Pats and Falcons were not rated tops in the conferences and these teams were the "other six"?

That seems hard to believe.

Every now and then, something like a ranking as blatantly biased as this comes along to remind us just how extraordinary the accomplishments of Bill Belichick are.

Like every NFL or big time NCAA Head Coach, Billick and Mora have enormous egos; add to that the fact that Jim Mora never filled the shoes of his father and you pretty quickly conclude that this "ranking" is just the fruit of pure jealousy.

From the beginning of the Cap and FA era in 1993, NFL HC's set the expectation in the minds of their team's ownership and management that it was going to be very difficult if not impossible to win consistently in the league.

Then, along comes Bill Belichick, who compiles a 157--94 regular season W/L record and a 15--5 Playoffs Record while taking his teams to five CCG's and four SB's, winning three of them (and, he clearly ain't done yet).

Think about it; Belichick has won 46 more games than Billick and Mora combined and, at the same time, has lost three fewer games. Mora only got to the Playoffs once, while Billick is 5--3 in four trips, with one CCG and one Ring.

These guys are just beside themselves that Belichick has accomplished what he has and that, when the history of the best SB era coaches is written, Billick will be a footnote and Mora not even mentioned, while the "print" will go to guys named Lombardi and Noll and Walsh and Landry and Belichick.

I don't give these rankings much weight, but when you leave two teams with the best records off the list like these guys did it makes them look not very knowledgeable and their rankings a joke. How could anyone take them seriously, and billick and mora look like baffoons

I am thinking the same thing. This is the "next Six" type of list...

If I were a Jets fan I'd be angry at this. BB and the Patriots don't need any more bulletin board material than Rex is giving them.

Thank god there is a playoff system in the NFL! :D

Power rankings are fun to talk about and debate. However, when one comes out that is as clearly unreasonable as this one is, you just note who made it and ignore them in the future, because they've demonstrated that their opinion isn't worth paying attention to. There's nothing more that needs to be done.
