Jets Fan Coming To Foxborough - Advice?

Hey guys. I just won a pair of tickets to the game Monday Night, and I have two questions.

1) How do you guys treat opposing fans at the stadium? I'm not talking about trash-talking schmucks - just people who show up and root for the opponent (cheer the good plays, etc.).

2) I'm driving up from NY, then driving back after the game. What's the parking situation like, and where should I plan to park if I want to get out as quickly as possible?

Of course you'll get harassed a little but not more than anywhere else.
If you Park near or in stadium parking you can expect a 2 hour wait, so park as far away from stadium as you can. It will be about a 1 1/2 mile walk but you pretty much drive right out.

How did you win the tickets? You'll find that Patriots fans are generally quite nice to opposing team's fans IF they behave themselves. If you choose to act like a typical Green Beans fan -- loud, drunk, obnoxious, immature -- you hopefully will get bounced from the stadium. If you are relatively quiet and respectful (which is advisable -- I hate sitting near demonstrative visiting fans), there will be no problem. Park about a mile from the stadium at an outlying private lot and you'll be fine. You might want to consider giving your tickets to a Pats fan. Just keep in mind that you will be driving a long way just to be disappointed in your team's losing performance.

Cheer away, you have the right, and it's what a good fan should do. Just make sure you don't do anything like turn around to the people behind you and yell "SUCK ON THAT!" and you should be fine lol. Also, don't get piss-drunk and THINK about what you say/do... remember, you're still an opposing fan!

Just like every other stadium, the majority of the people are normal. BUT, just like every other stadium, there are douchebag fans who'll take it too far. Just use some common sense if you're around the latter.

Congratulations on winning the tickets, and I hope you enjoy every part of the experience that doesn't involve a Jets victory. As others have noted, if a quick exit is your hope, parking far away, and walking to the stadium, is the way to go. Bring a good amount of money with you, because the parking rates are ridiculously high.

lol I was just in Pittsburgh cheering on the Pats. Should I have just sat there like a meek little girl and not cheered when the Pats kicked their ass? Anybody can go to the games, and I don't see why a Jets fan shouldn't be allowed to cheer (within reason) at a Pats-Jets game...

Well, here's my advice - wear a Tom Brady jersey and only cheer in sign language so no one around you can hear anything (this is the joke part for those at home following along).

I am a season ticket holder and I have seen things go both ways with opposing fans, mostly having to do with how the opposing fans are behaving (obnoxious drunk Buffalo fans cuffed and hauled off to the cheers of the entire section; quiet dad and his kid decked out in opposing gear, but not cheering too loud, so people are friendly), but sometimes the attitude towards opposing fans goes along with how the Pats are doing. If they start losing, I have seen things turn ugly for opposing fans, especially if it is a night game where everyone has been drinking a lot. Use your common sense; don't be obnoxious, and keep an eye on those around you.

As for parking, I agree with those who say park in an outlying lot. They start on both sides of the stadium (north and south) about a mile away. Official stadium lots are $50 to park. Some of the outlying lots are $40, and maybe $35 for those way out (but you'll have a long walk).

Enjoy the game, and may your team lose.

Make sure your probation officer knows you're leaving the state. I've never met a Jets' fan who wasn't a convicted felon and I have to assume that you are as well.

All of them are down route 1 (may be others but I don't think there are) and they are all about $40. Stay as far away from the stadium as you can and you're good.
