Deion Branch Appreciation Thread

A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

Apparently if you have Deion Branch on your team and he is playing, you don't lose to the Jets

Deion Branch teams are undefeated against the Jets posting a 7-0 mark since he was drafted in 2002

Does not matter if you are the Patriots or the Seahawks,if you have Deion the Jets fall.

As a matter of fact the Jets have not come any closer than 5 points in defeat each time Deion is on the opposite roster and active in the game.

2002 - 44-7 Win
2003 - 23-16 & 21-16 Wins
2004 - 23-7 Win
2005 - 16-3 & 31-21 Wins
2008 - 13-3 Win (w/Seahawks)

The Deion Branch Factor is in effect beginning Monday Night at 8:20 PM :)

Those teams didn't have Revis or Cromartie either. That said, Branch might be a tougher match for them being a great route runner.

Saying that is like when an anouncer says, you know that QB has never thrown a pick against this team, then POW! Next pass is picked off!
Can you say Jinx?
I'm just sayin'

I don't like the pats can't lose threads but these are past stats and final scores, not predictions.

If you watched the game Thursday they continuously said Brady has not had an interception in several games and he didn't in that game either so in that regards it did not jinx it.

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

It is a useless stat, but this is an offense far more equipped to beat the Jets. Hoping for WR to beat the CB one on one is more difficult. Now, if Revis takes out Deion we still have Welker and the TE to throw to. Whoever Cromartie takes will have a solid matchup unlike last time when Cromartie's long and lean frame matched up well against Moss.

We may not win - although I think we will - but we match up well now. Our #2 WR is a good matchup on Cromartie and our TE match up well with their Safeties. Revis can do what he likes with Deion, the game will be played elsewhere.

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

Rex Ryan is tossing and turning in his sleep over this.

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

No offense, but I am just not a big fan of these types of "trend analysis"

It's like when they say, "The Dolphins are 13-2 all-time on Monday Night Football".

Who cares? What do those games have to do with THIS game? The personnel is different, the karma, the momentums of the teams - everything.

Now certainly when you talk about a player, it is a little more applicable because a player can make things happen as an individual, but still...I would much rather match them up as they currently stand and try to make an informed prediction.

man, this is gonna be a LONG week...

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

Better stat: Pats have never lost at home with Brady and Welker, including the playoffs. 23-0.

I like that stat a lot better.

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

Yeah, and Peyton Manning before last night was 12-0 in night games following a loss.

10 years ago doesn't matter. Last year doesn't matter. Hell, last WEEK doesn't matter. Play better, make fewer mistakes, DO YOUR JOB, and on that day you will almost assuredly win.

Maybe BB knew this and that's why he made the trade, knowing the second match-up with the Jets would be critical

Re: A team with Deion Branch on it has never lost to the Jets

Yeah and the Buffalo Bills never won a Super Bowl with Marv Levy ... another useless stat.

MacMullan: For Branch, so many reasons to smile

I just came across this really great article by Jackie Macmullan on EspnBoston about Deion Branch. It really shows how much he's matured and what a leader he is on and off the field.

Re: MacMullan: For Branch, so many reasons to smile

Besides everything else, that article puts him in the same category for me as Charlie Weis -- parents with mentally-disabled children, who can be totally excused if they're greedy for every million dollars they can get.

Re: MacMullan: For Branch, so many reasons to smile

Watching The Zombie's post game interviews on Fifth Quarter it's obvious that The Twig is totally jacked and pumped to be back here. He loves being with the GOAT and Belichick. He's SO enthusiastic and admiring of BB and TFB. It's infectious. BB describes him as the consummate team player.

Were The Twig to pick up another ring or two, HOF is not beyond reach.

Re: MacMullan: For Branch, so many reasons to smile

Would I be right in saying that if he never left he would have earned more money?

Excellent article. Thank you for posting it.
I had serious questions about what Branch could bring. I certainly don't now.:singing:

Its really amazing. There are just some players that Brady has this insane connection with. I doubt Branch would be able to accomplish what he has with Brady with any other QB (and thats not to disparage Branch at all), its just like they are on the same wavelength.
