I'm glad he's doing well......

that's all

Watched him this weekend and he looked good. I really do like a QB that scrambles and I forgot that bit about him from the 2008 season. Anyway they are definately a team on the rise.

I hope Cassel and the Chiefs can beat the Chargers in a few weeks. After the Indy game, I was watching NFL Network and they talked as if the Chargers winning the division was automatic and would have no problem with the rest of the schedule........I'd love to see them proved wrong (like usual).

Agree, I'd love to see Cassel win that game.

He's had a great year. Really, he has had a Pro Bowl kind of year. But I'm sure Manning will get in instead of him:rolleyes:

Amazing 22-4 TD/INT ratio. Weis has really taken his game to a new level. I remember when he was here guys like Jamie Dukes were downplaying his success saying he can't throw the ball longer than 10 yards. I hope that Cassel finally gets a shot at the playoffs even if it is two years too late.

OT: Through 11 Games, Matt Cassel Has Thrown 22TD's, 4 INT's

Through 11 games, Matt Cassel has thrown for 2307 yards, 22 TD's, only 4 int's, for a 99.7 QB rating.

Absolutely amazing.

He's a top 10 QB right now, and probably the best QB out of his draft class that included Leinart, Young, and Cutler.

This might have gone nicely in the Matt Cassell thread a few spots down....

His play should be worthy of a Pro Bowl spot. As I said in another thread, I am sure Manning will get it instead. But it should be Brady-Rivers-Cassel. I am sure it won't, though.

Hopefully, Brady will be playing the week after the Pro Bowl and there will be an extra spot open for Cassel anyway :D

Cassel was part of the 2005 NFL Draft:

Alex Smith
Aaron Rodgers
Jason Campbell
Charlie Frye
Andrew Walter
David Greene
Kyle Orton
Stefan LeFors
Dan Orlovsky
Adrian McPherson
Derek Anderson
James Kilian
Matt Cassel
Ryan Fitzpatrick

Well, I'd probably consider Rodgers over Cassel, but that's about it. OTOH, look at the 2006 class:

Vince Young
Matt Leinart
Jay Cutler
Kellen Clemens
Tarvaris Jackson
Charlie Whitehurst
Brodie Croyle
Brad Smith
Ingle Martin
Omar Jacobs
Reggie McNeal
Bruce Gradkowski
DJ Shockley

Wow. This is almost hide-the-children bad.

Yesterday, neither could Peyton Manning. :singing:

Re: OT: Through 11 Games, Matt Cassel Has Thrown 22TD's, 4 INT's

kind of blows apart the whole Brady v Manning argument that Brady plays on a better team then Manning. Going 11-5 with Cassel had a lot to do with the QBs play.

Matt Cassel was drafted in 2005 not 2006. You really think Matt Cassel is better than Aaron Rodgers?

That is a long list of garbage QB's, wow.

It's absolutely incredible that Cassel, who didn't start a game in college, is one of the best QB's of those 05 and 06 draft classes.

Re: OT: Through 11 Games, Matt Cassel Has Thrown 22TD's, 4 INT's

I think he's clearly the pick of the USC litter...and being on the short end of the stick in tinsel town may have been the underlying reason that could happen...that and his getting his foot in the door here. I think Sanchez will always be more boom or bust. Palmer has become more bust than boom. And Leinart was just a total bust. Cassel will do more with less like his QB mentor. Their HC still scares me in KC. Hopefully Scott and RAC and Charlie will hold serve and the tempermental, egotistical golf pro will become less of an issue over time. He is starting to look more like a figurehead on the sidelines, and that is a good thing. He seemed hell bent on screwing with them early on and nearly cost them a couple of games.

We should have traded Brady and kept Cassell.

;)

except that this thread happened first.....

but don't let that stop your whining

LOL That was one POV as I recall... As opposed to those who mocked his trade value and recommended cutting him so he could find his niche at Walmart...;)

Then of course there were those of us realists who said all along given a reasonable situation he had the makings of a tradeable commodity...an above average starting NFL QB.

In my ideal world, a 40 year old Matt Cassel returns to the Patriots to take over for a retiring 45 year old Tom Brady. What? It could happen...

I see it now ...

AFCC :
Tom Brady vs Matt Cassell
Romeo & Weis vs Belichick

wow what story lines .... that's one I'd like to see
