Cool. When Brady's too busy with that other game to go to the Pro Bowl, Cassel can step in for him. :)

charlie weis!

I'm happy for Matt. He got a lot of criticism last season. But let's not get too carried away either. He's played two teams with winning records so far, Indy and Jacksonville. Yes, technically Jacksonville has a winning record, as hard as that is to believe. He's played 4 of the 6 worst pass defense teams too.

Having said that much, he's really on a tear these past 3 weeks with 10 TDs and 0 INTs. And they play 0 teams with winning records the next 5 weeks. The Chiefs have to get by San Diego (5-5 right now), but the division is theirs to lose.

He's having an amazing season. He really has turned into a very good QB. He's having his best season ever. I'm hoping they make the playoffs, because Cassel is my second favorite QB, and KC has been down for so long. Of course, I hope we crush em if we face them in the playoffs :)

But they have beaten those bad teams in much more convincing fashion than the B.S Jets, and he threw a touchdown that Bowe should have caught, which would have mostly won the game, so really he is having a very good year. I am not going to say he is elite but i think he is going to get better as his career progresses.

Matt cassel is the new David Garrard.

He plays almost identical to garrard in his prime.

i think he maybe the best USC qb currently at least close to sanchez if not better

I think he is a better qb then Sanchez, and 10x the leader Sanchez is. Rex Ryan is not good for a QB who is a goofball to begin with. It's all coming up roses for them now, but wait until tough times come, This week hopefully starts those tough times now.

HUH??? Garrard had ONE good season. Other than that, he's been mediocre. Cassel is putting together another fantastic season. Add this to the one he had in New England and he's doing much better than Garrard.

Also, Garrard ran the ball a lot more than Cassel does.

Thank you. Off 08 and 010, I'd take Cassel anyday. Garrad had one good season.

Agreed. He's having an excellent year so far, just didn't want to see a revival of the Cassell > Brady threads is all ;)

I can tell you I enjoy rooting for Cassel out there.

I think he came up big for us when Brady went down. It was just out luck that it was the first time in 24 years that an 11-5 team did not make the playoffs.

i guess it also needs reminding ,he didnt play in college ..

Wish the Chiefs were in the NFC

People harp on how the Jets have only won 1 game vs a team above .500 this season. Matt Cassel's Chiefs haven't won any games over a team currently above.500.

He's playin in the 2nd worst division in the NFL (record wise) and is playing vs the WORST division in the NFL (record wise: NFC West).

He's a good QB. Yes, he's better than Sanchez. But his schedule is softer than Liberace visting the Playboy Mansion. Lets not get too crazy about him yet.

pEOPLE HARP ON THE JETS BECAUSE WITH ALL THAT TALENT they have signed they only manage to be barley beaten sub 500 teams.

Hey, it doesn't matter what the record of the team you beat has. You have to beat the bad teams. If the Pats just did what they were supposed to do, and had beaten Cleveland, they'd be 10-1. I don't care about style points. A win is a win. I don't care if it's by 100 or 1, a win is a win. We won all 3 of our SB's by a total of 9 points. Who cares who you beat, and by how much, just care about W's.

What? This is crazy talk. Garrard has never been able to drop back and fire like Cassel has done this year. Garrard has never been as good as Matty was in 2008 either.

To compare Cassel to Garrard is ridiculous, from a statistical, and particularly game management perspective. Cassel can manage a game very effectively, and may end up being a top 5 QB in the AFC after this season - both statistically and in the eyes of others. KC hasn't beaten any great teams yet - but they've got a shot to make the playoffs, and the only way I won't be rooting for them is if they play us.
