So far he's run 145 times for 627 yards and 4.3 ypc with 9 TD's

He's projected to finish the season with 912 yards and 13 TD's

Here's my rankings of AFC's RB's, based on this season and what they can do in the future...

1. Chris Johnson
2. Jamal Charles
3. MJD
4. Rashard Mendenhall
5. Arian Foster
6. Ray Rice
7. Knowshown Moreno
8. LaDainian Tomlinson
9. Darren McFadden
10. Ryan Mathews
11. Peyton Hillis
12. Joesph Addai
13. BJGE
14. Cedric Benson
15. Ronnie Brown
16. CJ Spiller

I know BJGE wasn't even counted on this year and has done very well this year, based on the pats new offensive scheme post Randy, I think RB is a much more important position now then it used to be. I would love to see BJGE as our #2 back next year. He's worked hard and I'm pulling for him to succeed, but I just don't think he's a legitimate starting NFL back.

I'm not bashing him, just wondering if anyone thinks he should be our lead back next year?

Why is Ryan Matthews that high???

He has done alot this season!

I'd say your right about where he ranks now, probably around 13 but I think he can be a top 10 next year and he may continue to improve beyond that.

Pretty good list. I'd just switch Benson with LT and would take Mattews off for now, haven't seen him do much. Not hating on LT just think he's been slowing down in recent weeks and will continue to do so.

13 is about where I'd put BJGE too

I'd have him around #12.
I'd move Matthews and LT down and Benson up.
Since you're factoring in future value LT has to drop imo, and Matthews hasn't show much this season although he has a lot of upside.

I think LT has at least 2 more years left, they have the option of his workload diminishing if need be. Mathews has been pretty good, he just can't stay on the field.

For most teams, BJGE is an ideal 2nd back (reliable/durable) and Woodhead is an ideal 3rd down back (a YAC machine). Intuitively, it seems like this team would benefit from a top back that can break long runs. But do you think that an elite power back (e.g., Hillis) would complement the short passing attack better than a high risk/reward guy (e.g., Charles).

Arian Foster is too low. Tomlinson has little future value so I'd say he's too high. Moreno is as pedestrian as they come; a bit too high, for right now.

BJGE is neither a star or a bust. He is hardworking, durable, and dependable. Let's not raise him or desecrate him. He is pretty much middle of the pack.

What he said. This season will be the highlight of his career. Next year we draft an elite RB in the 1st or 2nd round. I appreciate Law Firm a LOT, but he's not the guy you want as a year in, year out, starter at running back.

Foster is like a Diva WR, he's got some issues. Moreno has good hands too, he's been set back by injuries in his first 2 years, but I think he's better then "pedestrian", but by no means is he elite.

BJ should be 9th on that list, with only johnson, rice, mendenhall, charles, MJD, foster, mcfadden and hillis in front of him

LT is already slowing down w/ half a season under his belt, mathews has shown nothing, and therfore his ceiling also counts for naught, and addai is NOT that good, plus injured a lot

Moreno is the only other back you can argue, but its not all that clear either

Huh? I would want him as the RB, year in and year out, if he produces TDs in the double digits along with zero fumbles.

Well Mathews has shown more then BJGE did in his first few years. The only question I have with Mathews is his health.

I don't think RB is as high a priority as alot of people think...including myself.

Pass rushing DE,OT , C ,CB,OLB would probably rank higher on Pats needs list....an early day 2 RB in round 3 would be fine.....

Get a couple of GOOD players that can start along with a couple players that will develop and be starting caliber by second part of season and that's 4 positions taken care of in the draft....see what they casn grab in FA...SIGN MANKINS

Taylor is gone next year...Gerard Warren probably gone also....Faulk is a ???..he could stay or retire.....Neal possibly retires....

BJGE is a good back but not an elite runner. He would be ideal as the second back off the bench. I really hope they can draft an elite RB, but I doubt they will. But, I do like how BJGE doesn't fummble and he rarely gets caught for a loss.

I won't say it's the highest priority, but Since Moss is gone and the offense is trying to be more balanced, I would say it has gone up on the list.

Regardless, Foster is probably the best dual-threat RB in the league right now.
