More likely upper teens and wind chill (7-18mph gusts) around 10. He struggled last season in the Meadowlands when gusty wind was a factor. Flurries would not be unwelcomed since they skew visibility for some not acustomed to them... Our QB, receivers and RB's are now all veteran weather guys. Read today that the JETS have fumbled a substantial number of balls but that horseshoe mentality has resulted in an unusual 74% recovery rate (the norm being right around 50-50...). If it rains as predicted for 2 days before the bottom drops temp wise, the field conditions could be interesting...

Weathermen are playing pool with oval balls on a lumpy playing surface (chaos theory). It could be a blizzard or an Indian summer night. Hope for hostile weather and friendly refs and fanatical crowds. Also hope that the betting line favors the Jets.

Somebody educate me please. Having never been to New York or the New England area, I just kinda assumed that the weather was pretty close to the same. I can see Miami and Indy having trouble with the cold, but the Jests aren't what I would consider a warm weather team. Is the weather/climate that much different?

Not too much different, New York/Jersey is a little warmer and usually gets less snow. I guess some players just don't adapt to the cold very well.

Just hoping for a rain-free game. There's nothing worse than watching a game in the cold rain - it flat out f#cking sucks. The NYJ game in 2007 and the PIT in 2008 come to mind as being the worst games for fans in the stands weather-wise...
That 2007 NYJ game takes the cake, though. If anyone else on this board was at that game - remember it? It had snowed maybe 5 or 6 inches the afternoon and into the night before the game, then the morning of the game it turned to a "wintry mix", then into flat out rain a few hours before kickoff. The parking lots were just a mess, filled with giant puddles of slush, rain-filled tire tracks, and there was no plowing done in the stadium lots across route 1.
IIRC, it rained the ENTIRE game - cold, cold rain...I remember seeing that the temp was 32 or below during the game, and I remember saying to myself - "this should be snow!", but it wasn't. I had my full Gorton's Fisherman rain suit on and I still got f#cking soaked, and the clothes I had on underneath the rain suit actually froze.
That was quite the game - not really complaining, just trying to give those folks that might live outside of the area and do not get a chance to see games at Gillette a little glimpse into what it's like for a fan in the unpredictable New England weather on game day!!!!

I was at the Pitt game in 08 and it was terrible (and not just the weather).
The Jets game sounds worse though.

I grew up in Southern Connecticut and went to school in Boston.

Boston is colder for 2 reasons. It's 10 degrees colder, AND it's a helluva lot windier.

Not sure what that means for Foxboro however, but I would say there's a significant difference in the climate. When NYC has 40 degree days in winter (it happens quite a lot) it's 30 in Boston.

well sanchez is from Cali and is used to playing in warmer climate, but don' t forget that it was pretty cold when the jets played the bengals at the meadowlands last year. i can't remember if the jets relied heavily on their run game in that game or not.

regardless of the weather, i expect the offensive game plan for the jets to be simple:try to pound the rock with Green and LT (like the browns did) and if that doesn't work they'll go to the air more. they are going to try to keep brady off the field as much as possible, so the D has to step up.
