He's very aggressive and a great tackler. 6'2" 210 or so. There is a knock on his speed maybe.

What do you think? I know BB likes these smaller CBs, not sure why. But there's something to be said for a good aggressive CB who loves to tackle. Reminds me a little of Woodson.

Maybe they get him in the 3rd or so.

He's not a fraction of the athlete Charles Woodson was. Size is the only valid comparison between the two. Also appears to be injury-prone this season. Intangibles seem like a Patriots-type guy though. Team captain, deeply religious, not sure if the football intelligence is there. Not sure he projects to the slot.
Bottom line is, If he tests well, he goes in the 1st round. If he doesn't test well on agility we don't want him in the second round either.

Injury prone DBs (e.g. Wheatley) concern me. In our scheme no-one is strictly a cover corner. They all have to hit and tackle regularly. Which exposes a player to more injury.

Too slow and stiff to play CB in this defense. Bulk him up and play him at Safety.

Thats what I say, these days Safeties have to cover a lot more than they used to. For the most part they are locked onto a slot WR or TE. He could be the 3rd or 4th CB and Safety in year one and then take over for Merriweather in year two.

Sideline scouting thinks he is a round 1 talent.
Sideline Scouting - Cornerbacks

"Very good in run support... One of the nations' top tackling cornerbacks... Can wrap up in space... Has a knack for making the big hit... Disciplined... Plays within his limits... Lots of potential... High upside... "

I like Aaron Williams from texas more. These are the top 4 corners

1Patrick Peterson
2Prince Amakumara
3Brandon Harris
4Aaron Williams.

D-Money, I like your list, and I think I agree with your rankings, but I think that Dowling is being discussed as a possible Meriweather replacement. I think he'd be perfect in that role. I also like Jimmy Smith a lot as a CB/FS hybrid, although I think Dowling has better ball skills. He's a good tackler, too.

I don't believe that BB does prefer smaller CBs -- after all, he headed into this season starting Bodden & McCourty, both of whom have pretty good size. What he prefers is quick CBs, and it's rare to find elite quickness in a 6-footer.
