Anybody else catch Brady yelling that from the sideline after one of the Lions receivers caught a ball in front of Butler with approximately 2:00 left and the Pats up by 21?

Brady is on a mission this year. He seems to have taken his leadership role to the next level.

Do I love it? YES!

But...should the offense really start yelling at the defense? I mean, do we expect Mayo to yell "MAKE A ***** PASS!" on the sideline if Brady is having a bad game? I think Brady should motivate the offense and someone on the defense needs to step up with the motivating.

But hey, maybe after last week he's just sick of it.

Besides Belichick, Brady is the unquestioned leader of this team. It's totally appropriate.

Trust me, I'm ALL for it and 100% love it.

I just don't know how the defense will exactly respond to that. I don't think I ever saw Ray Lewis yell "MAKE A ***** FIRST DOWN!" to some of the awful offenses he played with.

Hopefully it works. Brady is now the best leader in the NFL.

I think it's great, and I love how even though the game is decided and we're into garbage time, Brady is still fired up and in the game.

I think the idea is to make sure the Pats don't let up and let their heads swell up. There's always opportunity to play better, even when leading by 3 touchdowns.

I'm curious who he was shouting at. (Butler?)

Once Mayo wins us three Super Bowls, thought of as one of the greatest linebackers to ever play the game and becomes a first ballot lock for the Hall of Fame, then he can say whatever the hell he wants to say.

Until then, Brady is doing exactly what he thinks is right for the team.

And if that means yelling at Darius Butler from the sidelines, then I'm all for it and love it.

I'm pretty sure the Patriots defense plays for the same team as the Patriots offense.

Yes, he said "Darius!!! Make a Fu&$'n play!!"

Butler is a bust, I'm shocked to say.

That's Brady's big leadership leap this year. In the past, he was the leader primarily of the offense, with the defense having lots of leadership of its own. Now, Wilfork is almost alone as the highly respected vet leader on defense, and Brady is giving him some help.

(Guys like Mayo are net pluses to leadership, I would think, but not on the Bruschi/Harrison/Vrabel/McGinest level.

With so many young players on the team, especially in the secondary, I think they need Brad extolling them not to stop playing until the final whistle. Had this been the Harrison, Bruschi and Law D you never would have seen that.

If it works I don't care who he yells at.

We basically have two DBs making plays:

  • McCourty
  • One of Chung or Sanders

More would be better.

In regards to lip reading I think it was much more entertaining when I saw what Jim Shwartz had to say after Branch's long touchdown.

You can cleary see him say (in a state of shock) "What the f**k just happened?"

I saw this and I'm not very good at reading facial expressions, but even I saw the "Make a ******* play" quote. It was awesome, and I'm all for it. If its what pumps McCourty up, then do it more.

It was to Butler - you can clearly see Brady say "Darius....

What is with this guy. It is like he doesnt care and really half a--ing it at times

You never would have seen it because..... they already knew

Actually, I thought what Brady said was

MAKE UM @#$%@# PAY!!!, not make a @#$%@# play

This was right after the brawl. And when the Lion player made the catch Butler casually pushed him out of bounds

I think Brady was still pissed about the fight and the dirty play by the Lions and wanted Butler to lay the wood!

Someone please upload this so I can see it.
