If people thought Suh had it locked up, today may have changed that. Suh was invisible (except to the penalty flags) after the first few minutes (and his D got 45 hung on it) of the game and McCourty was key to the win.

Nice to mccourty get big visibility w 2 picks on national tv!

I love the irony of how McCourty played today given that most all the media is crowning Suh as DROY, what's that, do I hear Dennis Green somewhere? :D

This is a very good point! I think it depends on how the rest of the year goes for each of them, but the race just got closer with McCourty's 2 interceptions today!

I definitely expect to see his name popping up a bit more. I'm definitely glad to have him on the team. :D

Did the analyst say that their was another rookie with 5 picks for Seattle?

At the very least, they can be co-DROY. I don't know how anyone can deny McCourty's impact. I know Suh has been ballin' and all, but so has McCourty. I think he's only given up 1 TD and he was in zone coverage on the play. He now has five INT's, and I'm willing to bet he's somewhere near the top of the list in tackles by a DB. Oh, and let's not forget that the kid also plays on ST's. He is just an all-around stud.

I agree. if McCourty continues improving and having games like this, it should be close. Suh didn't help his case today in a nationally televised game--both with his play and especially for losing his cool and appearing to be a moping, whiny turd instead of a leader when things turned bad.

If Special Teams play counted (which in his case it should), McCourty would win it hands down.

I'm loving the season McCourty is having and he certainly has a good shot at winning, but Suh is not only having one of the best rookie seasons for a DT ever, he's currently the best DT in the league.

I posted this very same thread a few weeks ago and people laughed at me. Well whos laughing now! HAHAHA

According to the post numbers, you beat me.

Congrats. ;)

Heh, I see it now, but it didn't look that way when I first posted it. Yours came with a link. We'll call it a draw. ;)

I think I remember people in that thread saying that McCourty needed a breakout game on national TV before he could begin to chip away at Suh's lead. He did that today. I still think Suh would win a vote if it were held today, but stay tuned, McCourty looks like he's just warming up.

He should be. Five picks halfway through his rookie campaign... one for a TD. That's impressive considering he's typically been going up against the other team's best receiver.

What were they thinking using a first round pick on someone that will only excell on special teams.

You're such a homer. ^_^
I really like McCourty but at the end of the year the sportswriters will find Suh's sack statistics a lot sexier.
I think he was a great pick. If the Pats had not taken him we would be sunk this year in the secondary.
Nobody foresaw Bodden going down to injury except BB and his magic crystal ball. :D

Suh is definitely going to get it based on his season so far and he deserves it. If McCourty keeps doing what he is doing though he could be the man.
