....the Jets chose Kyle Wilson -- CB right after BB chose McCourty. Remember, how Wilson was touted as being a fantastic catch that fell to the Jets, someone who could partner with Revis. Rex said he had heard Cleveland had considered Wilson over Hayden at # 7. Kyle is now a benchwarmer who is awful at tackling. Just imagine, if BB had bought into the Wilson hype and McCourty had fallen to the Jets..........

Next, in Round 4, at # 112 the Jets picking one spot ahead of NE, (a spot they traded up to IIRC), chose ....get ready, drumroll please....Joe McKnight, RB. At # 113, BB chose Aaron Hernandez, TE. Just imagine, if the Jets, had grabbed Hernandez to pair with Keller.......

Just imagine........ and Be Thankful!!!!!!!

I doubt Bill even heard the hype, let along buying into it. McCourtey is who they wanted, if you watch the post draft draft room video, when they traded down Bill and Caserio were counting the teams just below them who may take CB. When pick #27 was up they got a call to trade down again but Bill said "we already got a #3 out of this, let's take our guy". McCourtey was their guy, there was just a little poker playing on how far they could trade down and still get him.

Also, if the Jest hadn't drafted McKnight they wouldn't have made the mistake of cutting Woodhead.

i get your premise. but you can say that about any player. who cares what order they were drafted. we have had a few bad drafts, a few good ones. lets hope our future picks are winners.

I'm also not enamored of how Ryan brought Wilson along, McCourty is the better player at this point in their career and BB had a plan for him coming into NE, but I wouldn't have been surprised if NE did draft Wilson and if the two CBs teams were reversed if Wilson didn't look better under BB's tutelage.
