Unfortunately, BJGE had 21 of the 30 carries for the New England Patriots running backs. Do you reasonably expect BJGE to get 120 carries in the next six games?

My point was more in relation to the fact that the team carried it 30 times. Not just BJGE. I think anywhere between 80 - 100 is reasonable.

without getting into it. He ran 18 times against the steelers. one of the best run defenses.

I would love to see him carry it 15+ times a game. But, no. I don't see him getting 1,000yards this season. If we don't draft a RB next year and Law Firm is the featured back for the entire season, then he should have it without much trouble next year. But not in 2010.

Can't see it with Taylor back soon.

176 yards with 2 games (88 YPG) left and he does it.

In his two games against Bills he's rushed for 105 and 98 yards. Bills are currently ranked LAST in the NFL in rush defense and I have a feeling he's going to have another big day against.

176 might be tough but I hope he gets it.

on the flip side if we beat the bills the last one might not mean much maybe FT gets some reps in that one.

Pessismistic Pete feels optimistic? You don't say?

No. He'll have a decent day vs BUF but will see 9-11 carries vs MIA.

If they games meant something perhaps...

Right now BJGE is tied with Mack Herron ('74) and Sam Cunningham ('76) for the 20th most yards rushing in a single season in the history of the Patriots.

Here's a listing of all players to have rushed for 800+ yards in a season for the Pats:

1. -- 1635 -- Corey Dillon, 2004 ------ 15 games, 4.7 ypc

Still makes me sick thinking he played another 10 years for the Jets.

Current: 568 yards / 4.3 Avg / 7 TDs

He needs to average 72 YPG to get to the thousand yard mark.

Already sensing worthless "WHO CARES WHAT HE GETS I JUST WANT TO WIN" posts. Of course we just want to win, but it's just a topic for discussion. The last Patriots RB to get 1,000+ yards in a season was Corey Dillon on the '04 Super Bowl team.

I say no, ending up somewhere in the 8-900's.

I'm in the who cares camp in a way, but i'd love to see him get that recognition for his hard work, why not? It's really all about the carries. Any running back that totes it 20-25 times a game can get 1,000, since they expanded to 16 games.

Seems like it depends on game situations with 2 games and 80+ per needed. Of course he could take it to the house for 80 a couple times and put it in his hands.:D

The poll sums it up, Bengie is not a 1000 back, sorry. Its good enough he has around 800 or so and the best QB in the game trusts him to punch in those 12 TDs (wouldn't happen with Peyton behind center).

Law Firm wont eclipse 1000 in the regular season.

Theres too much ground to cover.

How can a poll decide how many yards a RB can gain in two games? I'm mystified at the process.

In some ways I would like to see BJGE get 1000 yards more than Brady get the MVP.

The story of Benny is one of hard work, perserverence, effort, and a clear will to win. Just as much of a "True Patriot" cliche as Troy Brown or Tom Brady.

- He gets positive yards nearly every single time he gets the ball, often fighting mercilessly just to avoid losing a yard.
- The last time he danced was probably at his high school prom.
- He doesn't fumble.
- He finishes runs, often carrying would-be tacklers into the endzone with him. He always falls forward.
- His pass blocking has improved to the point where teams no longer know it will be a run when Benny is lined up in the backfield.
- He can catch and run when given the opportunity.

I'd love to see him get that notch in his belt.

He might get it, he's gone over 100 in both his starts vs the bills. Not sure what they do last game of the year vs miami. He needs like 180 yards.

I'm with you on this, but you left out one very important stat: 2 out of 3 pats fans members will say he won't make the final 53 next August! :bricks:
... then again, maybe it's not that important! :D
