He needs to average 72 YPG to get to the thousand yard mark.

Already sensing worthless "WHO CARES WHAT HE GETS I JUST WANT TO WIN" posts. Of course we just want to win, but it's just a topic for discussion. The last Patriots RB to get 1,000+ yards in a season was Corey Dillon on the '04 Super Bowl team.

I say no, ending up somewhere in the 8-900's.

I think not. Probably 5-6 games this season have happened or will happen where he can't get anything.

Everything is subject to the game plan, including BJGE's touches. I think his average stays solid/respectable, but the scheme will keep him from being a 1,000 yard rusher.

Probably not if he stays near his average. He would need 17 carries a game to get there, and he has been averaging 13 a game.

It's going to be tough but man I'd love to see it. Always awesome when the unknown player comes out of nowhere and makes it big.

WHO CARES WHAT HE GETS PETE I JUST WANT TO WIN

j/k j/k

I'll be rooting for this, and i think he can. But I predict he finishes somewhere in the 800's. I see Taylor suiting up pretty soon and cutting into his carries.

Looking at the schedule and the run Ds based on yards allowed per rush.

DET-27th -4.6ypc
NYJ- 2nd -3.5ypc
CHI- 2nd -3.5ypc
GB- 26th -4.5ypc
MIA 8th -3.9ypc
BUF-29th -4.7ypc

So seems to be feast or famine but BJGE did have some good numbers vs Pitt and they are ranked #1.

I say he has a couple 100 yd games but finishes around 900 for the year- which is very respectable.

No way....Fred is coming back and will assume the lead role

If Fred is injured more after he comes back I still think it won't happen,Woodhead will be a factor

I think those are realistic and sensible answers.

I also agree with this.

depends.

If he gets over 100 yards against the lions then I honestly give him a good chance..
One thing I think is amazing is that woodhead looks like he'll carry for five hundred and have over 300 in receptions. Not bad for a week 2 pickup off someone elses roster.

No, especially if Taylor comes back healthy.

If he does, he's doomed....The Patriots have had many thousand yard rushers, but only two (Martin and Nantz) have done it more than once.

The New England Patriots offense is not committed to the running game for BJGE to obtain enough rushing attempts to gain 1,000 rushing yards.

How many carries last weekend? 30 odd.

I dunno. It will be a horses for courses approach down the stretch. Like I said earlier if they run successfully against the lions its possible.

Yea his statement was off. Simply put, with their current personnel, they are not committed to giving a single RB 30 carries a game ala Dillon.

Unfortunately, BJGE had 21 of the 30 carries for the New England Patriots running backs. Do you reasonably expect BJGE to get 120 carries in the next six games?
