I was just thinking about this because it is such a short week. Is it possible that Price is active this week to give Branch/Welker/Tate a bit more rest? I can see this happening, even if he's only being used to return punts.

Why does everyone keep thinking this guy will play this year? He's an emergency option. He's at least 2-3 years away from contributing in the NFL because he was essentially a blocker in college. He has skills but he could be the rawest player in the league. Can we please put this subject to bed? He will not play unless Edelman AND Tate are hurt.

Well, maybe because he was a 3rd round draft pick and has the talent. We aren't playing the Jets on Thursday, we are playing the Lions and it could be a good opportunity for him to get some reps. Why are you so sure that he won't play?

I also find what you are saying humorous because Julian Edelman was primarily a QUARTERBACK in college and he was a 7th round pick. He got plenty of reps and was successful at WR. He was more of a project than Price is IMO. I know Welker missed a couple games but Edelman still got plenty of reps at WR and nobody knew for sure that he would be good.

Its impossible to know really. No one knows his progression, if he's even having any. That said, with BB you never know.

I would love to see him get some reps, but to activate him, you have to take a regular off the 45 man roster. So who should he replace? I don't really want to see him returning punts at this stage of the season, I would perfer someone with experience.

Someone says this every week, he is not playing, same for Taylor.

Unless there is an injury that we are not aware of, I wouldn't think so. On the other hand I do expect to see more of Tate this week. He has a lot better matchup against the Lions than he did against the Colts.

You can't overlook anyone. The Lions, like the Browns, have lost most of their games by very slim margins. They aren't that bad, and we're on the road on a short week. Not exactly a week to "give the kid some reps."
Second, Edelman is a totally different story. He picked up the position instantly and became a contributor on STs, making him more valuable. Price clearly hasn't picked it up the way Edelman did. Sure, Edelman was probably a bigger project before they got on the field, but once they were out there, Edelman made more progress in a short time. Did you watch Price in the preseason? He has a lot of talent, but, like I said, has no idea how to play WR at this level yet.

You seem to be a person who disrespects a lot of teams saying pretty much these games are easy wins :nono:

Ask the Giants how easy the cowboys game was and the Saints how easy Cleveland was and both those games were at the favored teams stadium.

Don't take any team for granted.

If you haven't learned from the Browns game against the Pats you will never learn.

We can only speculate as to where Price is right now. The coaches will activate him when he's ready.

/end thread

in order for price to be on the active roster, you have to remove someone.....who should be removed?

I doubt he will play.

I had high hopes for this guy, but right now he's MIA. I'm from Mizzou on this one-gotta show me.

Yes, he plays, until Edelman can learn to catch a 100 mph pass from 10 feet away he will sit.

I hope people on this board aren't taking the Lions game lightly this week.

The reason is quite simple; he has not shown much in practice. If he cannot get open against the Patriots DBs in practice he is going to have a really tough time against a good defensive backfield. Maybe he can get open but drops passes. Maybe he cannot master the playbook. He can probably block so that is not the problem; there must be something else wrong.

I think that Edelman is banged up so it is even more telling that Price cannot get on the field. I think that the best we an hope for is a great offseason and a better showing in training camp. It sucks because the Patriots burned a 3 on this guy. I certainly hope the Rand Moss 3 will be better and I hope that the Patriots do not get the Pete Carroll syndrome (we have a lot of picks so we will take some chances).

I'd rather see Fred Taylor.

Holy ****, when did I say this was an easy win? When did I say the browns game was an easy win? Ok, maybe I said it should have been a win, but any other game? Sure I predicted that the Patriots would kill the Colts but that prediction was mostly me just being optimistic (Which isn't appreciated on these boards). So care to explain how "I seem to be a person who disrespects a lot of teams". WTF?:explative

My point was that the upcoming game isn't vs the Jets but vs a team with a losing record (The Lions). He has to get out there at some point. Do you think we drafted this guy to sit him on the god damn bench for his career? There haven't been any injuries but it would be a good opportunity to get him out there when the team is short rested and vs a team that hasn't been too successful.

Unless we're looking for a giant hole at the WR position, I don't see why he would be activated. Guy has a HUGE learning curve.
