Who starts at the other CB spot against Detroit?

Personally, I'd start Butler and keep Arrington at DE :D

Hard to really tell, but might want to give Butler a go..

Arrington without a doubt. Has played solid corner, great run support and an excellent tackler.

I think Arrington too as long as he's not hurt. Put McCoutry on Johnson and I think Arrington can handle Burelson

They need 'em both. Lions are gonna throw, throw and throw some more. They have 5 receivers with more than 30 catches and Calvin Johnson will command double teams every route.

Maybe Butler will see more time. Arrington looks like Crable's replacement.:)

I don't get the knock on Butler's tackling. Personally, I think he has always shown himself to be a very fundamentally sound tackler.

Arrington has done decently in his place - but his missed tackle on Wayne yesterday was an absolutely huge point in the game.

Overall, the production seems essentially the same. I'd rather see the higher upside player in there, Butler, and hope he develops.

Pats dont matchup their corners with WR's, they play sides of the field. McCourty is generally on the left, while Arrington/Butler the right.

Arrington got smoked in the first half (including a missed tackle and inability to find the ball on several throws (a previous complaint of Butler)), and I was not surprised when he was replaced by Butler to start the second half. Arrington played on the line and in the slot, as well as STs. Butler played well outside, and I expect him to get the start in Detroit. Taylor, Wilhite and Page are all on the verge of coming back, however, and they will have to take other people's spots.

Arrington had a tough half against a top 5 WR in wayne.
experience he will learn and move on.

what did butler do in his chance.

also we do not rotate corners. a reason when wayne moved inside in the slot he was matched up against chung a thing i want to see them change by pulling merriweather in and pat falling down as the safety.

next time/

Maybe we'll get lucky and Johnson will stay on Mccourty's side :) Either way, there should be safety help with that guy

Butler is a much better corner.
Also, I don't know how this board is not panicking yet, since we'll face the best WR in the league this week.

He may be Megatron, but his team is 2-8 and Shaun Hill isn't exactly threatening.

which is exactly why Hill could have a career day.. Pats D tends to bring the best out of second string question marks...;)

I am sure megatron gets is butt handed to him by a something big blue red and silver! Optimis Patriots.

Johnson is one of my favorite non-Patriots to watch. He'd make a good Patriot - he's a stud wideout without the headache. What a beast.

Especially in a short week, BB will go with talent and experience, not to mention toughness. The obvious choice is Arrington.

Agree. Arrington was burned by Wayne several times and his non tackle was a big change in game....neither one looks good in man to man....

I'll say Arrington for the run plays and Butler for the pass plays. I mean i only heard his name once in the game so that might mean that he was covering pretty well.

Butler had key coverage on Wayne 2 plays before the Sanders pick. If that pass is completed, the game likely turns out very different (Colts at the 21 with a minute to go and 3 timeouts...instead of at the 24 and 2 timeouts after burning 20+ seconds). Hopefully Butler has used the last several weeks of practice well, since it looks like he is the next one up across from McCourty.
