I'll admit when I'm watching other Football games, I'm not focused on how the TE is blocking. But everytime they show a replay of Gronk blocking he looks like He's a man among boys. His blocks seem so dominant.

I know Alge is credited as being our "blocking TE" but is he a better blocker then Gronk?

Just wondering how other people think he stacks up against other TE's.

Most receivers think just standing their guy up is blocking.

Gronk begs to differ.

Yes, but the good news is Alge Crumpler plays on the same team.

The 2010 draft class gets more impressive with every game.

McCourty
Hernandez
Gronkowski
Deaderick
Cunningham
Spikes
Mesko

Hopefully Price begins to make an impact or at least next year...

Alge is the best blocker. Have a look at what he did to Freeney on Woodhead's touchdown run.

That's probably the biggest reason this season has been so much fun for me because I like watching those guys improve.

And what if they have similar results with the next draft?

Holy **** the rest of the league better watch out.

Beyond that all these guys are playing on rookie deals which leaves BB well positioned to make FA moves if he chooses assuming the cap comes back.

I saw Gronk absolutely manhandle Freeney on one possession as well.

These rooks have shown their talent. Now we just need patients and hope they can keep it at a consistent level and continue to improve.

But it's the best draft class in a Looong time.

Thats the one that stands out to me as well, I know Freeney isn't know as a great run stopper, but how many TE's take on a top DE like that?

I love how he stays with people and finishes every block with an attitude.

He has high Intentionality, when it comes to finishing his blocks

More patients are the last thing we need. Some patience will go a long way, however. And if we have fewer patients next year, along with the development of the 1st and 2nd year players, very cool.

it is because of the tight ends that the patriots are able to be so diverse on offense, BJGE's big game against Pittsburgh is indicative of a dominant O-line and Tight ends, there is nothing more important then these tools in the running game.

i like BJGE, but imagine what this team could do with a runningback who has breakaway speed, vision and durability.

Gronk is getting a lot of help from the scheme in the blocking game. They're using him on a lot of wham, crack and kickout blocks which will always look impressive due to both the momentum gained in the motion and the angle of engagement. It's also a lot easier to maul someone in the run game when you're 6'7 and all of 255. That being said, he has done a really nice job with his technique and how he glues onto guys who know how to shed. Gronk is going to be a pro-bowl player and the most complete end in the league over time.

Crumpler is the best blocking TE on the team, though. He's as good if not better than most backup tackles.

I'm not so sure about to many probowls for Gronk, not that he's not worthy, but I'm sure they look at production in the passing game more heavily then blocking. He'll have lots of TD's, but I can see the crop of young TE's... Moeaki, Gresham, Keller, and Hernandez all beating him badly with receptions and yardage. Not to mention Zach Miller, Antonio Gates, and Mercedes Lewis.

You mean, like Woodhead?

Now, if only Woodhead was about 235lbs.

Loved the one play in the game on a running play, they showed Gronk pushing Freeney about 15 yards away from the ball carrier. What A BEAST!

While Woodhead has amazing agility and is both nimble and sure-footed—a 'back edition of Welker—I don't think Woodhead has quite the "breakaway speed" of a Brandon Tate. A 5'8" guy weighing 200 lbs. is going to be outrun by a lot of guys going at top speed.

For instance, Woodhead's TD doesn't go for a TD without the other Smurfs blocking for him. A "breakaway speed" guy makes it into the end zone uncontested after juking the two Colts at the 25-yard line.

i cant agree here, both of our udfa rb's right now have both vision and durability

what neither has like you said is that breakaway speed, or homerun ability...i remember the last back we had that was supposed to have that homerun ability, and im actually MORE than OK with being able to get 3-6 yards on ANY carry no matter what

there were some runs by BJGE that i swear there was a wall in front of him AT THE LINE...and yet he someone moved in front of it, and gained 5 yards out of it....he does this quite consistently, and thats exactly the type of runner i want

There is a guy named Daniel Graham we used to have here and is still one of the best, even in Denver
