The Monday-nighter against the Jets appears to be the biggest game of the season, and could quite possibly be for the AFC East crown.

The Lions only have 2 wins.

Is the Lions game a trap?

Nah, I don't think so just because it's on Thanksgiving day which is pretty much like MNF. The players will be up for it.

"Trap game" is the dumbest term in the history of professional sports.

How could you not look at this game as a trap game or at least as a game that may bring a little less urgency to the future of the season?

The team just played its biggest rivals in a physical game that exhausted many defensive rookies,it also only gives the team less than 4 days rest for it and it will be tough for the younger guys to not look ahead to the big showdown at Gillette in less than 2 weeks.

If this team were a dominant veteran group then it might not be all that much,it is with a younger group who know whats coming up and not to mention these young guys have not played a full flegged important football game 2 times in 4 days in thier lives including College and High School.

HOWEVER...Its the Lions so this all might not matter

I was worried about this game strictly from a "recovering from big hits" standpoint. But there didn't seem to be any big hits today, the players shouldn't be too sore.

edit: I voted for "could lose", because every week they "could" lose.

I think the short week creates more uncertainty around this game than one might normally expect when a strong team faces the Lions.

Is this the weekly "trap game" thread?

I don't think any game can be a trap game after what happened in Cleveland. They will come out hard and not overlook them

Trap games are only for the teams we play that are already eliminated from playoff competition and are no longer relevant to the postseason.....I think the next trap game is the Bills :)

To be fair, my impression of the Cleveland game...

If there is such a thing as a trap game, this is it. Let's hope the biys rest up and get re-focussed.

Not enough time to get complacent. The lack of turn around time probably helps NE stay focused. Can't have a bad week of practice when your week is 3 days long....

I change my vote to no. The Pats have 10 days after the Lions game to worry about the Jets.

every freakin week one of the Patty Paranoia Party come up with this "trap game!!!!!" crapola...it's not a trap game it's the NEXT game.

Trap game: struggling opponent, usually with a poor record, sandwiched between two quality opponents, especially when rivals are involved.

This is a trap game.

That phrase needs to be banned

I don't think that this is a trap game. The butt kicking that they took from the Browns woke everyone up. They ae playing at a higher level now. It may not have shown to day like it did last week but , these guys are making plays when needed to. It may not always be a pick of sack, it just might be a tackle that stops a first down. I don't think it will be like the Steelers game but more like the Bangels game but better play in the second half.

Right now, 32 voters say it is, and 16 say it isn't. Pretty one-sided, IMHO.
