I'll echo the sentiments of one of the commenters:

Well, they need help form a higher power at this point, so all the more power to them. Does this make matt millen the anti-christ?

People seem to forget that a much lesser Lions team gave the Pats all they could handle back in 2006. Sure, they're playing without their quarterback, but they still have a pretty good offense and a capable defense. They're playing at home in front of a national television audience with absolutely nothing left to lose. Dangerous game still.

They did play each other tough in 2006, but the two teams are still radically different from the last time they faced off. Have to keep that in mind.

I will agree with you though that this is one not to be taken lightly. Thanksgiving is basically the Lions' Super Bowl every year and they usually play inspired football on that day. I'll never forget when the Lions crushed us in 2000, a game which saw Brady make his NFL debut, and he looked every bit like a rookie in the little action he saw.

O god, that 06 game....lions were killin them then two straight kitna passes to vrabel and a fumble later and it was over.

It may be their Super Bowl. But, since they beat us in 2000. They were actually the better team that year. They have gone 1-8. Usually getting blown out.

We need to do a predict the golden gobbler winner thread next week. Troy Brown won it last time the pats played on thanksgiving right?

I say Tate. Turkey day would be a good day to get his fourth KR to the house.

And for the record I am aware how many he has now

:D

I'm going to go with Rob "Stinko"Vitch. Would love to see Tate tear it up though.

You think they will be praying that Suh can somehow get to Brady in this game? I sure hope not....

I think a personal phone call to all the fans is the proper way to whip up a fanbase. ;)

There is a factor that makes me nervous about this game..
The Colts are going to be tough to beat no matter what IMO..

We get one day off.. One practice day and one travel day..

Thursday games are usually a distinct advantage for the home team...

I realize we have enough talent to beat em anyway..

just saying.. Plus the Lions are hardly pushovers anymore..

The short week has me worrying about injuries

The guys will be coming off of a game against the Colts that I see as a physical one and they may be vulnerable to injury if they don't have rest

As long as their prayers include that the Patriots beat the Colts and the Jets, I'll take that.

Yeah, I can go with that. Detroit, both the team and the city, needs all the help it can get these days.

That's true. OTOH, they'll have more time to prep up for the Jets game afterward.

True, there is not a pats fan to be found that would gladly take a loss to the Lions on national TV if that meant they would then go on to beat the Jets a week later.

Although many in here will scarf at this, the real truth is that the Lions game is about as big of a trap game as it gets.

A game on the road just 4 days after a home game against our biggest rival in the past decade and that game also coming before a game that might determine the AFC East title should scream TRAP to everyone

The only thing that gives me a little relief is that if this team is set up for the biggest trap game in their history then at least it's against the Lions.

Although many in here will scarf at this, the real truth is that the BROWNS game is about as big of a trap game as it gets.

A game on the road just 7 days after a home game against FAVRE & MOSS in the past decade and that game also coming before a game that might determine the AFC title should scream TRAP to everyone

The only thing that gives me a little relief is that if this team is set up for the biggest trap game in their history then at least it's against the BROWNS.

Sound familiar fellas?
