And if this (super rumored and super unofficial) sketch of what the Patriots' uniform will look like, Denson wasn't lying:

Fixed for you.

This was proven yesterday to be a guy doing this trying to pass for being officially from NIKE. The original website is not down and gone.

Captain America!

TFB doesn't look himself either ...

Looks like Brady has been hitting the tanning beds.

There was a thread on this before, and it was confirmed as merely a concept design and not in any way official.

I wonder if these come with Captain America shields?

(I know - -it's been debunked. But these are pretty funny uniforms.)

I'm pretty sure there was a guy on another forum who claimed that he was making these lol

If you bash this uniform, you clearly hate America.

Just kidding. You can also bash them because they're terrible.

I think the Mayan's saw this coming and that's why they predicted the world would end in 2012.

That design sucks beyond belief. Nike is a pox on football. First those god awful Oregon ducks unis and now they want to make NFL players look like horse's asses. Go back to your Asian sweatshops, Nike.

P.S. Yes, I understand that design was not approved by the NFL or the Pats, but if this is where we're headed, count me out.

Nike is going to f*ck them up somehow. We'll get used to them, unfortunatley.

These were posted on Paul Lukas' UniWatchBlog weeks ago. I'm sure there will be something Nike produces that is highly objectionable over the course of their tenure. But can they really be worse than what the VikesCardsPanthersFalcons are sporting these days?

NFL uniform images causing a stir - Extra Points - Boston.com

File this one under "who knows what to believe."

Images of NFL uniform concepts are making the rounds on the Internet today, but the source of the pictures remains something of a mystery. The Patriots' version looks like the comic book hero Captain America's costume, and most of them are a dramatic departure from the current look of the NFL.

A web site message board has posted a gallery of the uniform images here.

A blog on the Baltimore Ravens web site says they are leaked images from Nike, which recently won the contract to be the official supplier of NFL apparel. Highlky unlikely.

Other blogs claim they are merely concepts by a Photoshop-savvy fan, while message board commenters and other web sites hint the images could be a test-marketing ploy to gauge initial public reaction.

On one message board, footballsfuture.com, a poster with the screen name El ramster posted the images on Oct. 17 (including several for major college teams) and said a friend created them. Several contain clues as to the source -- a Jaguars image is stamped "Designed by TornadoGTS" in a corner, and a Falcons design is labeled "Made by 11497."

Patriots reporters today showed the image to coach Bill Belichick. His response: "That a Halloween costume?"

In an interview with CNBC's Darren Rovell, Nike brand president Charlie Denson indicated the company would look to put its stamp on the league.

"We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we've done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available. The NFL program hasn't had the same type of advancement in recent years," he said.

What you talkin bout willis? The ducks uniforms are awesome. This one however is terrible. They should take out the stars, would still be bad but would be slightly better.

I think the Mayan's saw this coming and that's why they predicted the world would end in 2012.

I know you're making a joke, but the fact that some people think this is true is just crazy. The Mayans never predicted the end of the world, it's just the end of the last calendar cycle and the start of the next (14th?) baktun. It's just a counting thing. There's actually some scholarship that suggests that the common interpretation of the end of the current baktun is off by 50 to 100 years thanks to a mixup between Mayan and Aztec units, but I can't say how valid this idea is. End derail.

It's both gross, and horrifying. They've raised the bar.
