Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. North wind around 7 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.

So, it looks like it's going to be a cool/cold evening by the 2nd half. The ball will not be as soft as it is in the climate controlled Lube. But the wind is going to be light and there is no rain or snow expected.

What effect, if any, will this have on the game?

Probably minimal impact...except Graham makes me nervous even in a dome :(

I was hoping for this

I wonder what are the comparative records of the Patriots and Colts over the past decade with a gametime temperature under 40 degrees.

http://www.manningface.com/ is a great web site!

unless there is some kind of precip, I dont think that those temps will affect the game much. I know its not a cushy 70 degrees but its not extreme enough to make a difference. IMO.

Don't have that, but here's a good breakdown on Manning:

Peyton Manning - Indianapolis Colts - Split Statistics - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Manning's career rating is 95.1. In 21-40 degrees it's 86.9. Not much of a difference (Edit: Actually, almost 10 pts....)and his Y/A are fractionally higher (7.7 vs 7.6 career). His TD:INT ratio does seem to suffer -- he's 382:185 lifetime, 14:10 in 20-40 degrees.

Here's the breakdown for Brady:

Tom Brady - New England Patriots - Split Statistics - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Looks like similarly slight drops in the cold (Edit: actually, not .. goes from 93.7 overall to 91.9 in cold; not nearly as bad) , though his TD:INT ratio doesn't slip as much.

I'd have to look it up, but I don't believe he's won in Foxboro when it dipped below 40 degrees.

No snow, so no effect.

I would debate how much weather makes a difference as both teams play in the same elements but IMO there is no argument when there is no real element to speak of. Barely hitting freezing IMO is not enough to effect a performance.

I can remember being at the old Foxboro stadium when it was 20 degrees in the sun. Many "fans" were stripped to the waste* (thank god only to the waste) as the alcohol content kept them nice and warm.:D

* all male fans:mad:

I enjoy prefer watching the Colts play the Pats in nice weather. Lack of rain makes it easier to see Manning's tears.

What's up with that? You should have some Patriots suspenders made, so when strategically placed so technically it's still family friendly.

The cold might affect which injured players for the Colts play or not.
