Ron Brace Steps Up

Pepper Johnson quote cracked me up.
“Ron Brace is trying to grow into a strong professional, and that’s some of the things that we ask of him during the course of the year,” Johnson said. “Instead of sitting around pouting, he likes playing football. Whether he plays two plays or he plays 20 plays, he’s out there trying to do his best.”

Brace has really impressed me this season and quieted all the talk of being a bust. He's a real force against the run, and he's come in several times to stabilize that unit when we're struggling.

I hope he continues to mature and work hard. Coming in on Tuesday to watch film is hopefully a trend and no longer worthy of a news story.

But PatsFans told me he was a bust.

Does anyone know how many snaps he was in for against the Steelers?

Hernandez appears to be dogging it.

On the other hand, Gronk just appears to have been the more favorable match-up against the Pittsburgh defense.

No, hernandez was in for the hail mary at the end of the game. This was defensive participation.

I was kidding, the chart reads defensive snaps, obviously Hernandez shouldn't be there at all except for that one deep pass.

wow, a couple of people missed the joke apparently. Anyway, I'm glad Brace is playing well. He provides some really good depth on the D-Line.

I'd like to see Gronk and Hernandez both in as twin safetys in the Hail Mary package :D As Brady said the other day, it's about "catch radius", and those are the two biggest radii on the team...

Gotcha. When I posted that, it was still relatively early for me. :D
