Patriots bring Pierre Woods

Situational football I guess. BB must think Woods is more valuable against the Colts than Crable.

So, Crable has been given his chance, and now Woods comes back. I'm fine with that.

Woods was, and always will be a serviceable backup and solid STer.

Hats off to apple streudel and BradyFTW! for calling this move yesterday - regardless of whether or not the comments were made with tongue in cheek at the time.

Woods over crable anytime. Need all hands on deck for this one

I think this is a ST moves. They realize Graham is not going to get many touchbacks and Woods is a good ST player.

Yep, Woods was always serviceable depth and by all accounts a hard-working teammate. Welcome back from the shadow roster, Pierre.

captain_stone and Hey Bro What's Up? will be pleased.

One 6-5, 250 pound Michigan alum replaces another 6-5, 250 pound Michigan alum. I guess this means the end of Crable.

Decent back-up, knows the system. Good special teamer. While he's not there in the pass rush department, he can set the edge just fine. The Crable experiment is the only reason why it took the Pats this long to bring him back. The Crable experiment is either a failure or is postponed. Regardless, I'm happy to have Woods back.

Kickoff coverage has been subpar so he should help there.

Me, too. Woods was good on STs and the one area the Stillers did well was KO returns.

I would not be surprised to see Crable back on the roster in a few weeks even. In fact, I kinda expect it. This is likely a gameplan move, where ST is more important than an ok Rush End.

Question - who will play left rush end? could be cunningham again. perhaps there are minute differences in gameplan that suggest that Crable is better against the Steelers but Cunningham is better against the Colts....?

LOL somebody I can't remember who called it in the Crable thread. I think they were joking though

Sounds good by me. Better STer, better edge-setter, therefore, better depth.

I guess the only curious thing is all the PT that Crable got the other night over guys like Ninko and Cunningham, in the sub packages. Was the PT purely for the sake of evaluation, b/c I find it incredibly hard to believe they would use game reps against Pittsburgh for that purpose.

i would agree with that, using young guys is one thing...but using guys JUST so they can be rated during the actual season is...interesting
