Watched Boise St. and Idaho last night and was impressed by Winterswyck. He can really sniff out the ball and bring some damage when he gets there.

This is a guy that might work nicely at OLB. He will need some time to learn the position, but he looked good against the run and rushing the passer and even dropped into coverage a couple of times.

It may take until the all star games to get a true read on him, but I like what I have seen thus far.

Great call, man.

He's the perfect size for the gig ~ 6.4/265 ~ and he's currently projected as a late rounder. This particular Draft Class has FAR more players who project perfectly into The Front 7 of our System than I have ever seen. I'd love to see us pick up not only at least one Starting Caliber Flanker in the early rounds, but one or two additional quality guys like Winterswyk, to take advantage of this rare opportunity to fill out our Quality of Depth.

I've been keeping an eye on him since his rFr year, he's developed into a true leader on defense and as you say he's pretty aware of what the offense is trying to do. He's been outshown by a number of others on the DL this season, but that may be due to offenses focusing on him, hard to say. He's one of five projected Day Three prospects whom I'd like to see in camp for a test drive.

Ochmed, I don't know if you spotted Winterswyk at TE on that TD run at the start of the second half? I'm getting to my recording of the Idaho game, first time I've ever noticed him at TE when I've watched him. Interesting to see a kid projected to be drafted at DE taking blocking TE reps in the 9th game of his senior season.

I saw it and he showed decent technique. The review you sent appears to be spot on. But I think I rank him as a bit more athletic than they do.

Once I saw him drop into coverage and redirect the MLB to an open offensive player, I knew that

a.) he has some arthletic ability and
b.) he's football smart.

Can he anchor against NFL OT's and pulling OG's, I ned to see him in the all star games to know for sure.

I hope he gets to the Shriner's bowl game, I don't think he's that high on Scouts shopping lists so it's a cliffhanger for us.

Doesn't Boise play on ESPN one night during the week of the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa? I will have to set my DVR for the Boise game.

We are doing the Iron Bowl that week and I can't wait to see how Saban's version of BB's defense will handle Cam and that nasty Auburn O-line. Alabama definitely needs to eat their Wheaties.

Boise State Schedule shows ESPN 2 coverage for the Fresno State and Nevada games.

The Iron Bowl is going to be monster, I'm looking forward to your observations from being there. If you get a chance to chat with Nick Fairley and Marcell Dareus ask them which O-lineman gave them the most trouble this season.
