Another WTF in Skinsville. What I wouldn't give to be back in Virginia to hear the reaction to this.

Remember, the Broncos fired Shanahan the GM, not Shanahan the coach.

What an idiotic signing. So sad to see what's happened to that once proud franchise.

Donovan McNabb must be the luckiest man on the planet. Either that or he has hypnotic powers of persuasion. How on earth does he get a contract that size for that long?

...while getting benched?

this is a joke right?

That's what I thought. I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April Fools Day (Mike Shanahan probably had to do the same thing).

McNabb isn't worth $40M guaranteed. However, the length is not a big deal. He is about the same age as Brady and Manning (within a year of each).

This makes no sense. Shanahan just pulled him from their last 2 minute drill? The only thing I can think of is that Snyder/Shanahan got scared because some idiot media members played the race card and are trying to show its not true? I just can't think of any reason to merit this contract. Are we sure its not a joke?

The Redskins have now given out the 3 worst contracts in history. Sanders, Haynesworth, and McNabb

The Big Show boys don't think this was the work of Shanahan. If this was Snyder's handiwork perhaps Shanahan has his out and will quit? Not winning anything with that doughboy as your QB. First Haynesworth and now this??
Makes you appreciate the sanity found with ownership around here.

Shanny should have his out after pulling dante instead of playing him the 2 minute drill. For the foreseeable future McNabb is the face of the franchise. Shanny will get used to it or someone else will.

Redskins ownership may be nuts but they do own the team. McNabb can provide stability.

The reality is that Washington is in the division race, having ZERO losses to the top teams, and having beaten Philly once.

Perhaps there was a locker room or player-coach issue.

Redskins ownership may stink, but it's their money and this was their way of supporting their quarterback and their offense. There's something to be said for that.

Word is he could have gotten $83 million if he could have ran the 40 without the oxygen tank.

Let me just say that there are a lot of coaches out there who would like to have McNabb locked in as their quarteback. We get spoiled at the top of the AFC with Brady, Manning and Roethlisberger.

Yeah: dementia, stage 5.

Shannahan will be gone, theres no way he approved of this. Snyder pulled the rug out from under him, typical DS move the Skins will be dead as long as he owns the team. Which is alright with me.
