Not sure what you see in Pittsburgh that tells you they are such a good team other than their record, which is the same as ours.

Are you serious? Pitt is giving up less that 65 rushing yards a game..which will make us one dimensional. With no deep threat and 3-8 dink and dunk passes? HA

So there rushing yards allowed makes their 6-2 better than our 6-2?
Brady is 5-1 vs Pitt and the running game in those 6 games has averaged 20-63.
We have a more effective running gameso far this year than we did in most of those years.

Like i said..i would like for them to win...but they dont play well on the road except miami...i just dont see how the beat probably the best team in football when they cant even show up a little vs the browns

Then I guess you will have to watch and find out.
Here are some clues.
Brady has consistent TORCHED the Steelers.
We won't turn the ball over.(If we do we are screwed)
They turn it over a lot.
The Steelers defense has been awful late in games for 2 years.
SD was a road win also.

brady has looked so eh this year its hard for me to believe he will torch them but idk

Yes SD was a road win but a very ugly road win where they did not play well...hopefully you prove me wrong

Im not ripping you personally, I am disagreeing with you.
If you can find a personal insult, show me and I will apologize and retract.
The fact that I disagree with your opinion is not a personal slam on you.
Last post you implied I said you were disloyal, and I didnt even close to that.

Im not twisting anything. When I say your comments INDICATE then that means that is how I interpret your opinion. Its your opinion. I can only interpret it, I cannot make it what it is not.

I am saying that we have the opportunity to take control of HFA. If you are saying the game isnt critical how can you not be saying HFA isnt critical?

See that is me interpretting your comments. And that is you explaining you did not mean what I thought you did. Why is that upsetting? Isnt that the way its supposed to work.
Is the board supposed to be all "Good post dude:rocker:" and nothing else?

Where did I call you ignorant? Using the word to describe people using statistics to say 6-2 isn't 6-2 isnt calling you ignorant.
I did say you seem scared of this game. I can't understand downplaying the importance of a game that is a tremendous opportunity to take control of the critical HFA meaning anything else. It appears from your comments that you don't want to call it a big game only because you fear a loss. Perhaps I misunderstand
Again, my conclusion from your post is that if you say a big game isnt big then you are scared. Again, correct me if I am wrong.

I have not called you names.
I agree with one game at a time, but this one is clearly a big one because it has more impliations than any one game.
For example, winning this game and losing next week leaves us (assumin they eah win their other game) tied with Pitt, owning the tiebreaker, and tied with Indy losing the tiebreaker. Losing this week and winning next (same assumption) puts us behind Pitt without the tiebreaker and ahead of Indy with the tiebreaker. Clearly this game is bigger than next in the long term implications, and much bigger than all the other games except the one vs the Jets. In other words, it is the 2nd biggest game left on our schedule in terms of playoff implications. I look at that as the 2nd biggest opportunity to accomplish something with a win. To downplay would seem to me to indicate you are thinking it is a loss. Again, perhaps I misunderstand, but if thats the case, I do not know why the extra implicaitons of this game are something you see no improtance in.

We're talking past each other. I guess we should just leave it that we both agree that we want the Pats to win tonight and, for myself, think that they will. The rest is just too convoluted at this point and past the point of dissecting it further.

No, their record does not make them better than us. Their players do. Their DBs are better, their LBs are better, their DL is better, their WRs are better, their RBs are better, their OL is better. What part of this don't you get? Who are the players on the Pats you have so much confidence in? Wilfork, Mayo, McCourty, Welker, Brady, Hernandez. That is the extent of the players making plays for the Pats this year. Sure Nink has had his moments, but he's more often than not dominated by the opponent's OL. The Pats have a team full of JAGS, and I think their record at the end of the year will reflect a team with superb coaching but minimal talent. By that I mean we will be right in the middle of the NFL pack.

sure you aren't a Steelers fan?

I'll stick with my last response to you.

I agree, discussions that reach this point rarely ever turn productive.
I would like you to acknowledge that I did not attack you personally, as you accused me of though.

I don't blame you. You really can't have a response for the lack of talent on the Patriots' roster. All those years of the Pats continually trading down in drafts has finally caught up to them. By always trading down, you are allowing other teams to draft better players than the ones you will get later in the draft. Sure there are exceptions, but the better players are more often than not taken ahead of the inferior ones. Over time this begins to play itself out. The Pats quantity vs quality approach to drafting has created the watered down roster we're currently stuck with.

Yeah, not quite. This was the response that I will stick with

Thank you for making one post that by itself proves to me you have no football knowledge and I do not have to bother reading your posts.

I'll acknowledge that it's possible for reasonable people to disagree about the use of the words "ignorant statistics" (even though I had cited statistics in the post to which you were replying) in this context and that they do not necessarily mean that you were attacking me personally for my use of statistics but rather that you were possibly commenting on the stats cited by others. I'll also go as far as to say that calling me "scared" about a possible loss could be construed as an observation made out of concern and not a personal attack.

Go Pats! Let's beat the Steelers.

Fair enough.
Just to clarify though. What I was calling ignorant was the use of a hand picked set of statistics being used as more indicative of the quality of a team that its record.
In other words, the record is a cumulatve result of all of the statistics combined, so it is ignorant to belittle (or over hype) the record by selecting statistic and implying they are more indicative of a result than the result itself.
