lol @ calling me a Jets fan. Pathetic. Stay on topic and keep your trolling out of my topics.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

@jmt, Nikolai

I specified this was for the best/most quality win. Not for the best upset, season saving, etc. game.

Again, the team that won is irrelevant. That only matters if we were talking about biggest upset/most important win. The answer to this question is strictly based on opponent and setting. I'm guessing you two didn't read that part as there is no way you feel wins against the Chargers, Chiefs, Bengals, Vikings, etc. are more quality wins than beating the Steelers at Pittsburgh.

I've already explained this though, so I'll try again. Pretend you're a fan of another team other than the Patriots and I say

"We beat Pittsburgh AT Pittsburgh, what was YOUR best win?"

There is no way you could say "Well we beat the Chiefs!" "We beat the Bengals!" and expect to even be on the same level as the person who beat the Steelers @ Pittsburgh.
So basically you are only looking for teams that currently have a good record - how they were perceived to be at the time doesn't count per your criteria - and lost a game at home this year, correct?

Here's your list of teams with at least six wins that have lost at home; pick and choose from among these games or the Pats winning at Pittsburgh.

BAL 17 @ PIT 14
TEN 29 @ NYG 10
MIA 23 @ GB 20
BAL 10 @ NYJ 9
GB 9 @ NYJ 0
ATL 27 @ NO 24
CLE 30 @ NO 17

Sorry, but I did read and re-read your original post. I had a real difficult time understanding what you were looking for.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

Well your last post right there showed exactly what I was looking for and I agree all of those games would be in contention.

Sorry it could be confusing, as "impressive" could cover a lot of things, that's why I tried to specify it.

I find it amazing that you'd lecture people on the merits if Deanna Favre's self respect and marriage to Brett Favre and not 24 hours later throw mud at Ben Roethlisberger for something he was never found guilty of (despite whatever opinion people have on the issue). You really are something Pessimistic Pete.

And no, it wouldn't be.

pete makes new england mike look like a rhodes scholar.

makes me wonder ... same opinion of the team and same opinion of people in the news.

If the Pats win, they take control of the AFC, so I'd say that's pretty impressive. But they also need to play the Colts the very next week. So the Steelers game would just be the most impressive win for the Pats to date. As far as regular season games go, it's a BIG one. There's no denying that.

Pete

If the Pats make it all the way to the big dance and pull off a win, that will be the most impressive win this season considering BB basically rebuilt the team.

Rookies all over the place and NE supposedly trading away its best WR in Moss.

IMO.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

Obviously.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

I don't think anything can be bigger than the Browns beating the Superbowl champs in the New Orleans.

that was big, but Pitt>NO this season

New Orleans beat Pitt just the other week.

The Saints had just been shaken out of their superbowl hangover.

Their results for the last four weeks.

NO 31 @ TB 6
Browns 30 @ NO 17
Steelers 10 @ NO 20
NO 34 @ Panthers 3

After reading this, i was laughing to hard to respond to the question! hahaha

While you're at it, get rid of that stupid sig. If it was Brady chasing Strahan instead, THAT would be funny. :bricks:

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

Jets winning any game this season is pretty impressive

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

No! The pats are 6-2 and so is Pitt..thats even..you are what you records says...

Lets be honest, the Browns beating the saints and then the patriots has been the most impressive.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

OJ Simpson wasn't found guilty of murder, Barry Bonds hasn't been found guilty of using steriods yet...

Everyone knows that he's a rapist, come on.

And again, if you vote no, please specify.

I hate ben as much as anyway..dude is a POS with that make a wish blow off..but I'm not so sure he raped her..Girl in a bar, huge nfl star..I think there may be more to the story.

It's all perspective. The Raiders beating the Chiefs is a HUGE deal to Raiders fans.

The Giants spanked Seattle IN Seattle last weekend. To you, that might not seem impressive, but provided that Seattle has been pretty good at home, and the fact that Seattle destroyed the Giants in Seattle the last time they met, and every Giants fan I know was reveling in that game. The same could be said for that win in Dallas, in which the Giants were getting manhandled in the first quarter.

true.. and even though they beat Pitt, I would still say Pitt is a better team and more dangerous.. JMO

which is why I think beating them in Pitt (with Ben) would be more impressive than any other win this season.

Sure there have been upsets by CLE that are mighty impressive but IMO, Pitt is better than both NO and NE

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

I think it depends 100% on HOW we win.
If we come out of the gate firing on all cylinders and win 59-0, ya, that might be the most impressive win.
If we come out soft and get down 28-0 and come back to win, that might be the most impressive.
If it's a slugfest that we eek out 21-20 or something, na, not the most impressive. A win will certainly be a very important win for us no matter how it happens, but I think it has to be rather spectacular in one way or the other to be considered the most "impressive" in the entire NFL for the entire season.

Re: Would Pats winning @ Pittsburgh be most impressive win by any NFL team this seaso

Going by OP's criteria, yes.

It doesn't get much tougher than playing on the road against Pittsburgh, this season.
