Got screwed by this trade

You know, I felt bad for Josh last year when the media, especially the NFLN crew, were ripping him over Cutler and then the Marshall fiasco. I thought, well, give the guy a chance to get "his guys" in place. But it's hard to defend a lot of his decisions at this point. The whole Alphonso Smith situation - -what a total fiasco.

Anyway, hoping Hillis keeps up the good work this week, and the Browns have some energy left for their coach's other former team.

Laurence Maroney and Chad Jackson were also his picks who he personally scouted in 2006.

He loved Maroney so much that he basically drafted another RB in Denver just like him, then wasted yet another draft pick to get Maroney.

McDaniels should stick to coaching. He's no Ron Wolf.

Don't forget about Kevin O'Connell who he personally worked out.

This guy should never be in charge of making personnel decisions.

I think the thread title "got screwed by this trade" is a bit misleading since the Pats pretty much have the same schedule as the other teams in the AFCE. If the Pats got screwed, then wouldn't the same be true for every other team that Cleveland plays this year?

If anything they got 'screwed' not by the trade, but by having the misfortune of playing the Browns when Hillis was healthy, as opposed to playing them when Hillis was dinged up earlier.

Beyond that, if any of the 30 other NFL teams were so clairvoyant then they too could have traded for Hillis.

Sorry but that's just not true, if you don't have any proof that he's using PEDs you shouldn't slander him. He's listed at 240lbs at the NFL combine in 08 and now he's apparently playing at 250lbs, that's not exactly an earth-shattering difference.

Also, he has plenty of skill back with the Broncos.

What proof do I have that Barry Bonds, Ted Johnson, or Vincent Brown used PEDs? You mean, other than the fact that they look like roided-out freaks?

It is worse than even that.

I believe that the Broncs gave the patriots a 4'th to move up a few slots in the first round this year (to take Benn?). I think (I have not checked) that the Patriots used that 4 to take Hernandez. Talk about a steal.

Yes, and the evidence says he's awful at it.

The guy is way too stubborn and hot-headed to be head coach material. His method of dealing with personnel conflicts is to cut everyone he doesn't immediately get along with. I thought he was going to be good, looks like I was wrong on that one.

He's got a rare talent for designing and calling plays on offense, but that's it.

are you sure?

because Brian Xanders is the general manager charged with making player personnel decision.

you mean to tell me that Bowlen has entrusted a guy who has never been on the player personnel side of the job the reigns for making these decisions? I don't believe that is the case. If it is, then it is Bowlen's fault, not mcdaniels'

so BB had no say in these?

BB and Pioli just decided to go along with these things?

Oh, I get it, the "eye test" is proof enough, I mean, it's not like the eye test could possibly be wrong. Sorry about that, feel free to slander people to your heart's delight.

Just because you call it slander, doesn't mean it's not 100% true.

Hillis reminds me of Dillon. Wish we had him.

Slander (and libel) refer to untruths.

"slander is"

•The oral utterance or spreading of falsehood harmful to another's reputation. Libel is written; slander is spoken

Ahh yes, thanks for the correction.

Are you serious? Sure, it might be true but you don’t have any evidence substantiating that claim, by that rationale I could make any claim I want about you and demand that you prove yourself innocent.

I’m not going to jump on anyone for talking smack about Brian Cushing, I think there’s legit backing to the claim that he’d gotten some extra help but to say that Hillis became a Juggernaut by using PEDs in the short time since he was traded is pretty ridiculous.

I swear if this guy somehow ever hits free agency he better have a workout @ gillette the same day. Even it it's later in his career would love him as a short yardage guy. Love the way he plays the game.

Here is Mr. Hillis punishing our boy Bernard Pollard.

Demaryius Thomas was who Denver got.
