Because its been such a rarity for the Pats in the last 10 years, to be that awful in all 3 phases of the game at the same time. Probably just as rare as it is for the Pats to be great in all 3 phases of the game at the same time.

Its a once in a blue moon type of game. To be thinking that we're going to play like this from now on is just dumb. No one needs to be fired or cut and no one needs to slit their wrists. We have one of these kind of games almost every year and we always bounce back. I'm just glad we got it out of our system now, than when it really counts.

Maybe because we sucked from the kickoff, so I maybe prepared myself for the loss, but it didn't sting like other losses. Like the Jets this year and many other losses in the past. Usually after a loss I'm like all down and stuff, but .. this time feels different, more like.. eh.. what're you gonna do? Sometimes nothing goes right, just gotta put it outta your mind and move on.

I wouldn't say it didn't sting at all. I hate watching that smug ******* on the other sideline. Ugh...

They played a bad game, whatever, just like every other team in the NFL this year. The thing that bothered me was the lack of emotion the team seemed to display. It looked like the game really meant something to Cleveland.

Almost... the only part that did sting was seeing the Jets come back and gain a game

Yeah , the jets winning did suck. I thought for sure the Jets were gonna lose when I saw on the ticker, like 4 min to go and jets down by 10. Then they switched over to the jets game.. and saw how bad detriot was doing and that stafford was knocked out of the game. Course that BS play by Detriot throwing it on 3rd and 2 with less than two min to go did not help at all. Or that love tap on LT.

This was the first game this year I missed. From the sounds of it I would have been very pissed being awake from 2 to 5 AM to watch that.

You would have slit your wrists ;-)

BTW PatJew, how are you able to catch the games in China? I go abroad fairly often and would love to be able to catch the games live.

Now that enough time has passed since the game I agree with you. However, I was counting on the Pats today to make me feel better after watching the Texas Longhorns play like wet garbage yet again. This one was tough to watch after what I tried to sit through yesterday. I didn't make it to the end of either game, and I can honestly say that's the first time that's happened in the same weekend.

As you say though, it was ugly but we move on. A lot of great teams have had some ugly ones this year. We just have to hope we do better from here on out.

Probably. I had a rough weekend anyway, but then when I stay up/get up to watch these 1 PM games it kills me all day on my Monday. So instead I woke up a couple times during the night, checked the score on my phone, went back to sleep, woke up and saw the score, said screw it and worked out. All things considered it worked out very well for me.

Still would have preferred that they won and I missed a night's sleep.

So yeah, in case you were all wondering about that...

Edit: Cleaned up language.

I watch some of the national games on a slingbox that is connected to my boss's office in Montreal. I buy the other games on Yahoo NFL gamepass. I get a weekly membership. It's expensive but the quality is great and I'm able to watch replays of every game of the season throughout the week.

I LOL'd.

To tell you the truth I wish I could have slept through the night. But when I know they're playing I just wake up every 30 minutes regardless.

The Lions loss hurt a hell of a lot more than the Pats loss...

There are lots of services to watch games over the internet. This is usually discussed by someone is a threat in the couple of days before a game. There are a couple of subscription services available outside of the US on a weekly or season basis.

This might go down as in epic fail thread if the Pats miss the playoffs due to tiebreakers on AFC loses.

Not me. I was sleeping soundly till a certain female called me to say that our Defense SUCKS......Despite my exhaustion, I awoke and turned on the computer to watch the 2nd half......damn I hate her. Oh well, the team lays an egg every once in awhile. :bricks:

Hey, I got tha freaking double whammy down here in Brooklyn. Tha Pats stinking up the joint in Cleveland on my 13" computer monitor and...

Tha effing Jets pulling off this total bullsh*t MIRACLE in Detroit on my 32" flat screen at the same time.
The Lions win was so assured, cbs was showing stat graphics on the screen of...
1. The Lions hadn't won consecutive games in 3 years
2. The Lion win total of these last 2 games equals their win total of the previous 37! lol.

It was in tha freaking bag, for Christ sake!!!!
Then... blam, touchdown, after The Jets had like 3 totals yards in offense the first 57 minutes. Then blam, field goal at the end of regulation. Then, in overtime... a Lion pushes LT after he's way out of bounds, 15 yards personal foul.... instant field goal range. Then... blam, field goal. Game over.
"Let's go eat a Goddamn snack!"

OH... F*CK ME! And I gotta hear people in my building cheering too.

THAT'S what stung. Not The Pats game. The fact that The Jets got a miracle in Detroit and went into 1st place is what f*ucking stings. And now I have to hear about it ALL WEEK on WFAN. Damn man! This freaking blows.

A rare instance when I wish I wasn't a New Yorker for a change.
