I wonder where that Seymore pick will end up?

I think Bill Belichick could care less where the draft pick is. He will do what he can with it whether that means to trade back or to grab the best value at that time. I also think that we will be happy with the player he picks, even if it isn't a top 10 pick... or a top 15.

Also, at least our Carolina 2nd round pick is shaping out to be a great pick. Picking a player at the 33rd or 34th spot in the 2nd round is practically another 1st round pick. Almost.

If there is a rookie cap, don't be shocked if the Pats trade up. The sad thing is the value if there is a cap could be the higher picks. But with two picks in each of the first three rounds, they have plenty of ammo to move.

After watchimg that abortion today I know that a top 5 pick talent would make me feel better
But that's just me

The best place to be is between 15 and 10 anyway. It's partially why they traded down to get a great player at less cost and risk. Any pick in the top 5 you are handcuffed to for 6 years.

Exactly, isn't that where we took Wheatley ?

Wheatley was picked #63 overall.Pats make grat selections in that area drafting Eugene Wilsons and Chad Jackson type players.

I believe we picked Ben Watson at #32. (but didn't bother to look it up)

We took wheatley with one of the last picks in the 2nd round. He was truly a forced pick. After the Pats lost Asante AND the 31st pick BB was forced to take a CB later. He didn't want McKelvin so he had to take one in the second round. To his dismay some good ones were selected higher then expected (Tracy Porter and Brandon Flowers. heard of them?). Drafting based on need and not value the pick just never worked out as expected.

At least we might actually use it if it is lower instead of trading it away for a bag of magic beans and a second-round pick.

LOL, a forced pick? please stay far away from the Patriots draft room this April, the last thing I want BB doing is taking a "forced pick", I'm sure he would tell you the same thing. Yikes !

How about a trade up then, have you ever heard of that ? Trade up for a guy you do want, how's that ? Go up and get a Brandon Flowers from Va Tech instead of sitting tight for a forced pick......A forced pick, that is histerical.......

I don't about you guys but I'll be stoked with a pick in the 33-35 range with that Carolina pick.

Well we needed a CB and we got one. Not that it was "forced", but I'm sure BB may have taken him due to the fact that we really needed a CB.

You can't tell me he wasn't picking based on need there. I believe in his mind those CBs would fall, but they didn't and once they are selected there's no point to trade up.

BB drafts every player because he believes in the draft pick and at the point he took Wheatley, I don't think he was forced into that based on need at all. He believed in Wheatley and wanted him where he took him, nothing was forced, it wasn't a reach. I mean BB needed OLB Clay Matthews more than anything after Vrabel was dealt and BB passed on him twice. The last thing BB does is force himself to pick someone just because of need.

He made a bad pick for a injury-prone CB, end of story. Bust in round 2, time to move on, no excuses.........

We will be able to grab a stud guard or center with it ... and we need one.

Center FTW. That said, each Raiders win makes the Seymour trade look progressively worse.

Not really. Seymour wouldn't have been a Patriot this season anyway, and having Seymour last season wouldn't have prevented the injuries to Brady, Moss, Welker, Mayo, etc. And a player unhappy about his contract would've been another headache in a locker room that didn't need any more.
