it is really pissing me off that no one has answered me.

If we CLAIM him

could we send him to the Practice Squad
?

He ain't good enough to be a starter.

does a claim mean you have to put him on the starting roster?????

If we claim him b4 INDY can... then we can hold him until after the Indy game is in the books.

answer me plz...

I wouldn't have to make a thread if ppl read responses and aren't all DUI with the Moss news and consired with who will break the story.

it's like 1st grade giddiness:eek: it is kinda humorous.:)

No.
Yes.
There, your questions are answered.

Re: Moss question....

Maybe no answers because it's a stupid question....

Moss on practice squad? are you new to football?

this!!!!!!!!!

Re: Moss question....

I dont care.I would want him back for the simple fact that the Welker would get underneath stuff again and maybe it would free up Deion Branch.I still think Moss can make plays in this league. Its about mostly his effort.I still think he hasnt adjusted well to coverages and his age.The guy's only 33 years old.

Re: Moss question....

Waivers is not a race to claim him. So if Indy claims him he CAN NOT go to the Pats. Pats can only get him on waivers if no other team claims him.

No he can not go on the practice squad.

NO Players who have played 9 or more games in a single season can not go to the practice squad.

He ain't good enough to be a starter.

Yes. But in the rotation with Branch, Welker and Tate.

If we claim him b4 INDY can... then we can hold him until after the Indy game is in the books.

answer me plz...

We can't claim him before Indy, to my knowledge. Though we may have priority over Indy because Indy has already claimed several players off waivers this year.

Honestly, Most football fans wouldn't have asked your first question because they'd know Moss wasn't eligible. As for your second, it's a legit question.

Re: Moss question....

I don't understand roster Rules 100%

thank you...... who could we get rid of on the active roster to make room for Moss???

we get the last claim at the top pf the AFC

Only team that scares Me w/ Moss is Indy.

I would put Edelman on PS w/ injuries (legit concussion) excuse. Claim Moss until Indy game is over. I am smart...... so let us see if the Pats are as intelligent and devious as the Tomcat. doubt it...... but let's see.

Inddy is the only team that scuuurs me w/ Moss..... the only 1

edit- we do have last claim :(

If they claim him off waivers, he would have to be on the 53 man roster (i.e. not the practice squad).
does a claim mean you have to put him on the starting roster?????
I don't know what you mean by "starting roster" but if you are asking if the Patriots would have to activate him and put him on the 45-man roster, I don't believe they would have to activate him. Of course, any team that spends millions of dollars to claim a player just so they can keep him inactive would be morons. But technically speaking, they wouldn't have to activate him.
If we claim him b4 INDY can... then we can hold him until after the Indy game is in the books.
We cannot claim him before Indy because Indy has a worse record.

If he clears waivers then all the above answers are irrelevant and any team can do anything they want with him. (EDIT: I mean, anything they want besides the practice squad. But there would be no restrictions on when they had to sign him, for how much money, or whatever. I apologize if I was unclear.)

They probably thought you were kidding. You can only be on the practice squad in the first couple years and if you haven't played in many games. So no, he's not eligible. You really think he'd accept that kind of demotion anyway?

If he has to go through waivers, I guess he could tell teams "I won't play for you, so don't pick me". Maybe he couldn't be signed by NE until he cleared most of the other teams and they would put in waiver claims for him just to slow the process down...ie has one week to show up to indy, doesn't show, etc. Then so on and so on.

Bruinz... thnx bro... you gave help and no chirps.:):):)

Thank You :D:singing:

edit- at least somebody has class

You can't put a guy on the practice squad "with injuries". If they put Edelman on injured reserve, the Patriots retain his rights but his season is over.

If they put him on the practice squad (which I think they could do but he would have to clear waivers - and don't quote me on that as being 100% sure) he is essentially an unrestricted free agent. I'm sure Edelman likes New England, but I think it's safe to say he would rather be on some other team's 53-man roster making $50,000 a week than stay on the Patriots' practice squad making $5,000 a week.

New information suggests that we might get the claim before Indy. They have claimed a few players already.

surely we must have some scrub on the 5 3 that we can cut. Is that joke running back from Miami w/ a pro bro or relative still on our roster....

got it Ederin's kin.

WHY CAN'T WE GET PLAYERS LIKE THAT??? :bricks: :rocker:

I don't think that is the case. I'll be honest and say I am not 100% sure, but I think in the NFL, it doesn't matter if you have already made claims or not. EDIT: WEEI says Miami, Dallas, Chicago, KC, Oakland, St. Louis and Seattle have expressed an interest.

Well, I am not going to speculate on whom they would cut/waive if they somehow got Moss back, but I am sure they would find someone.

I for one want him back!!! You seen what effect it has had on welker in the last few game bring him BACK!!!!!!!!!

I am just going to throw 2 names out there

Sammy Morris and Dane Fletcher.

I don't know much about Fletcher.... enlighten me:).

Sammy is old

1 of the 2 is surely expendable for Moss.

Fletcher I know 0 about.

There are a few players who the Pats could part with or move to IR. Edelman or Jarrad Page. Taylor Price, though this is risky if he's not actually injured.

we get the last claim at the top pf the AFC

Only team that scares Me w/ Moss is Indy.

The waiver system is based on the records for the entire league. Not just the AFC. So the Pats would be dead last. #32. Unless, of course, there are rules about other teams having already claimed players. Then it might be a bit more complicated.

I would put Edelman on PS w/ injuries (legit concussion) excuse. Claim Moss until Indy game is over. I am smart...... so let us see if the Pats are as intelligent and devious as the Tomcat. doubt it...... but let's see.

I just explained that players with 9 or more regular season games played in the same season are not eligible for the Practice Squad. The'd have to put Edelman on the Injured Reserve. And they have to be careful with that because there are such strict rules on concussions now.

Indy doesn't scare me in terms of claiming Moss. Why? Because I don't think that Moss would play for Manning. Not after the entire league has seen how Manning throws his own teammates under the bus. You know that Manning's ego is too big when he blames Reggie Wayne for the Tracey Porter interception in the SB last year. Manning telegraphed that throw. I knew it was coming.

IMHO, it's a bit soon to play the "who should the Patriots cut?" game. WEEI, quoting Shefter, says there could be as many as 10 teams interested in claiming Moss off waivers. So even if the Patriots wanted him (which is certainly not a guarantee), it seems they won't even get a chance.
