Let's address it.
Almost every post that's started by any fan just looking to have a discussion with other fans ends up with the poster being attacked.
People on this board are constantly looking for threads where they can find a reason to call the poster an idiot.
Whether they disagree with the poster's opinion, don't like when he posted it, or don't like the subject, they're going to find a way to bash the poster.

You'd think that everyone here was a fan of a different team.

It's always sarcasm, insults, and posts that contribute nothing to the subject of the thread other than bashing the poster.

I don't know if some of you get some self-confidence out of it or are looking for some respect on the internet, but what's the purpose?

We're all fans of the same team, which is sitting on top of the NFL right now. Why are we insulting each other?

If you don't like a post, someone's opinion, or anything like that, why don't you just ignore it instead of insulting the poster?

And of course, bring on the sarcastic insults now.

Get to bed kid. School starts early tomorrow morning!

Re: The attacks on this board.

I support this thread. I'm fairly active on another football forum where it is against the rules even to talk about other posters in negative ways. You can attack their ideas, attack their opinions, but the line is drawn when someone starts attacking the poster.

And I have like 15 people on my ignore list. It's a great function. I recommend people use it.

Re: The attacks on this board.

I've never been attacked. But then again, I try to be careful about the topics I choose to start, while staying away from self-serving lectures to others because my feelings got hurt earlier.

Thick skin...it comes with experience.

Re: The attacks on this board.

Is this thread necessary you pansie boy :D.

Re: The attacks on this board.

There are definitely a bunch of angry people on this board. It is perplexing.

Re: The attacks on this board.

I would like to call out IcyPatriot on both my thread and fencer's thread.

Some fans can only see crap and happily walk through it ...

This thread is dumb ... clearly dumb.

so why make the thread ... seriously ... you feel a need for attention?:bricks:

Personal insults against other posters are against the rules here, too. Patterns of ad hominem attacks can and do lead to infractions and suspensions. I've deleted a ton of garbage today, but there's just too much volume on game days to catch everything.

Re: The attacks on this board.

Not much different from any other season aside from 2007.

I agree with this and the OP. Let's try to keep the disagreements to the content of what's being posted rather than resorting to personal attacks against the posters themselves. You'd think this would already be a part of the 'terms & services' agreement to use this website. Can we have some clarification from the Mods or Ian on this topic?

See above. :) Contradict, disprove or ignore, but don't call the poster names. It's childish and reliably drags worthwhile threads down the toilet. Thank you.

If some guy is stating he would love to see a player get hurt then he deserves personal abuse. There are people here who go overboard and need to be showed that its not on here.

If you want to start making rules like that then there are loads of other little rules you have to bring in too. Like for instance not wishing injury on players because that sort of stuff sets people off and if you don't make that rule then posters can troll and bait people into responding to something like that and they get penalised and might leave the board.

And thats only one little thing, there are loads of other things too.

Well there you have it. Let's try to be civil peeps. We all love the Pats, so let's try to be a bit more considerate to one another.
Let's all enjoy this REALLY FUN RIDE this awesome team is giving us this season! :D

Re: The attacks on this board.

I went back and read the beginning of the "trap game" thread IMO Fencer over reated. Someone posted "can't we ever enjoy a win" and someone else posted "we sure get over wins fast" . in response and it was on. IMO that was hardly an attack on the OP. I agree with what they posted, can't we enjoy a win without jumping to the next game five minutes after winning a big game?

In fact, entire threads exulting over Favre's injury were deleted today. There's more NOT here than folks realize.

Who the F cares? Its the internet and anyone can say anything they want. Dont like it? just ignore the person..people have to learn to not take things so personal
