Bill Belichick: Master planner

Very interesting read. Thanks for posting this for us.

Good article. It deserves a bit of a bump.

Btw, Dungy clearly couldn't handle the greatness of BB's evil genius, thus his tenure was brief.

Sounds like he didn't make it out of camp...

His tree is full of guys just like him. Motivational huggers who know one thing, Tampa 2. Unless they inherit an offense (and in one case a 3-4 defense) like their mentor did they flounder. Herm, Lovie, Tomlin, Caldwell, Marinelli. And people mock Bill's tree...

Enjoyable, thanks!

I tried to picture BB as an on-the-air analyst. There are limits to my imagination.

As always, Wes Welker shows he knows the grass isn't always greener on the other side:

"I don't know if he could do anything but coach," said Patriots receiver Wes Welker, whose team plays the Vikings on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. "I don't know what he'd do if he didn't have film to look at. Hopefully, it's for a long time, or at least as long as I'm here."

Its somewhat crazy that we have to go to the papers of the opposing teams to read articles praising our coaches.

It is what it is.......

He's done it. He was part of the pregame crew for the Colts-Bears Super Bowl

i think the pitts-seattle SB and also did film breakdown with collinsworth for the arizon-pitt SB. he was good in both

Re: Belichick still has football in the blood

Ironic that they should talk about BB being a master planner when Favre is someone you can't plan for because he improvises. He shoots from the hip. How do you plan for that? You never know what he will do next because he doesn't even know, himself.

My initial thought is to play cover 2 robber to spy Peterson and let the chips lay where they fall as far as covering the field. Priority is to stop Shiancoe and Harvey, and above all do not play inside leverage on Moss because he loves that- we must play outside leverage to funnel him into the safeties, and hopefully that leads to some alligatoring.

Just be ready to capitalize on the turnovers because they will come.
