OK, Sunday is 10/31 and that means trick or treat where I live. We usually get over 100 kids coming to the house on that night. I know that in some other area's they come on "beggars night". But not where I live.

All those cute little kids in their cute little costumes with that excited look on their cute little faces.

I say screw them!!!! I'm shutting off all the lights, drawing all the shades and curtians and I'm watching the game! Does this make me a bad person?

What are you going to do?

Four young kids here. I'll be DVRing the game, powering down the iphone and watching it like it's just starting as soon as we get them tucked in.

If I had my druthers we go trick or treating @ 1pm and be home for kick-off, lol.

Rig up a candy dispenser machine!

Halloween is non existent in my neighborhood :D

Even if it wasn't...Pats>kids

Luckily I live on a small side street out of the way. Most of my town doesn't even know my street exists. I usually only get 3-4 groups of trick or treaters.

Hellooooooooo, Mrs. Jensen, you don't have any Snickers in your shopping cart

i love this commercial lol. I have to go to a sports bar anyways, not showing on cable in my area. i wont have to worry

I'll be watching and pausing for the children

My Couch is like 5 feet from my door so it's cool. If they get out of hand I'll just have an extended pause

Make a really scary "scarecrow" for your front step and maybe it will scare away all the kids.

Pull the shades down, and turn the lights off. But in Five years I haven't gotten a tricker treater Ever. Well a few years ago the door bell rang but the two of them were about 18 maybe 20. I think they were just seeing if someone was home, maybe casing my house. i live in the boon docks, aka East Cup Cake

Or leave the door and windows wide open. With all your screaming and yelling they'll be too scared and just move on to the next house.

As discussed in the other thread on this topic.

Here is a way to handle it.....

1. If the weather is nice move the TV outside, if not so nice, move it as close as possible to the door.

2. Dress in your Patriots jersey, football pants, helmet, shoulder pads, etc. (aka your Halloween costume)

3. Position your candy and chair such that you can dispense candy while continuing to watch the game.

You might miss a few plays, cause the kids won't be limiting their visits to commercial breaks, but you should be able to dispense candy without missing much of the game.

Leave the porch light on and put the candy in a bigggggggg basket or bucket on the outside of your door, that way you want have to worry about anyone knocking on your door. That's what I do every year, and when it runs out, it runs out. :D

Got two little ones here and in the time zone I am in the game starts at 5:15 right about the start of trick and treating. I usually am the one who does the rounds around the neighborhood with the kids, tried to get out of it this year and the wife says "are you seriously gonna put the game ahead of spending time with the kids?"......pack your bags everyone were goin' on a guilt trip....hello DVR

I remember trying to hand out candy during the Steelers game in 2004. In hindsight, I am glad I didn't don a hockey mask and take out all the little ghouls the way that game went. Should have just left the bowl outside the door.

I've also got the double whammy of 4 kids, plus a really busy neighborhood. Also, my TV is nowhere near the front door! I am seriously thinking of running the kids around quick at half-time, or sending the 12 yr. olds out with the 7 year olds (good sense will get the best of me on option 2 though). We will probably try to rig a TV near the front door, and one of us will have to bite the bullet and miss some of the game :(

Place 2 mannequins in front of your house. Dress one with a Favre jersey on top, just a towel around its waist and a cell phone in its hand. Dress the other in a Roethlisberger uniform and spread empty beer cans on the ground next to it. Parents won't let kids anywhere near your house. Assuming the cast of Jersey Shore doesn't live in your neighborhood, you should be able to watch the game in peace.

I'll be DVRing it. But I have to go to a party at about 3 so I am hoping that they won't have it on. I hate watching games anywhere where I can't put my full attention on the game.

:rofl::rofl: If that doesn't do it, then nothing will. lol

Yeah, got a daughter, so I'll be making the rounds. DVR is my friend, though I know I'll have to keep eyes and ears closed because I'm sure a lot of people will have the game on near the door.
