Bess just signed an extension with Miami. Seems like we have better success bringing vets in from other teams instead of drafting at these positions. Carolina will prob franchise Williams. Because they need a pick back. We have their 2nd. I'd give em Minny's 3rd for him. Wouldn't mind signing Vincent Jackson. I know about the baggage. You can put a clause in that voids his contract if busted and you don't give him his bonus all at once. You spread it out and make it like June 1st.

The only one of these options that excites me is Williams. The disastrous Panthers have Stewart as well, so they might let him walk. Floyd is cool but not worth the money. Getting a guy like Williams would help ease our O-line through a period of transition, and make the new look Pats much better.

Besides, we dumped Moss and we're dumping Mankins, there's plenty of money to spend.

I want Jackson as well, yep, just put a few clauses in his contract regarding his conduct and bacload the bonuses.

Steven Jackson is available as well as Sidney Rice too..

Rice's injury scares me, they're are certainly more these are just guys I highlighted. Feel free to add to the list whomever intrigues you. I also didn't look to far into who's received an extension so take off anybody who has. Ronnie Brown and Ahmad Bradshaw would be my top 2 at RB and Tolbert as a possible fullback. Jackson and Floyd are my top receivers and San Diego will most likely not sign both so one should be available.

The Jets will lose either Braylon Edwards or Santonio Holmes.Something tells me that they will let go off Holmes. So he could be out there.

I would be surprised if the Rams let Jackson go. If they did however, I would love to have that guy here. He's been facing 8 in the box his entire career playing for bad teams. Would love to see him in a pats uniform.

I think we should pursue and sign Legedu Naanee, just so Coach Bill can call up AJ Smith, and say...

"Naanee, Naanee, NAAnee."

If we can't get AJ Green, I want V-Jax. I wish we had made the deal for Boldin.

I would love to see LeRon McClain here. We desperately need an elite FB who can destroy LBs & serve as a short-yardage back. Sometimes Sammy & Fragile Fred are already one year past their Expiration Date. McClain would also extend Brady's career, because Brady would then not have to use the passing game as a running game. Every time he drops back to pass behind that OL of "try-hard, injury-prone stiffs", I fear for his health.

AMEN, Brother.

LeRon McClain is cut from the Sam Gash cloth.

Winning Championships is best done by making the Enemy fear that you'll simply bludgeon him to death...because you can.

That's what we had, when Sam Gash was destroying LineBackers.

It forces the entire D to make allowances for that.

The best Field Generals Use The Whole Pig...And General Tom Brady is the Best.

I've been focused on FB/LB Owen Marecic for about 6 weeks, now, as a late round Draftee...He is EXACTLY what this Offense needs.

No, that was not a typo.

The Giants are going to be screwed if Ahmad Bradshaw keeps his season up. Would they really give Bradshaw his value since they overpaid Jacobs?

I wanted Michael Bush when he came out and I want him still.

From the sounds of things Pierre Thomas is on the Pats radar and he is a Free Agent next season as well. If he can stay healthy he would fit the system well as he is a good receiver too. Hopefully his self-inflated price will come down.

I would be happy with a backfield of
Lawfirm (Power Back) 26yrs old
Woody (Faulk 2.0) 26yrs old
PT (Change of Pace Back) 26yrs old
Mid-round 2011 draftpick (Back of the Future) 21-23yrs old

To go from an average age of 30 for your RB's this year to under 25 next year would be huge and lock up the position for the next 2-3 years.

For the receivers I don't see a whole lot of change. Hopefully extend Welker beyond next year but I think the following suits the Pats just fine.

Welker (PR/Possession) 30yrs old
Branch (Wiley Veteran the young guys can learn from) 32yrs old
Tate (KR/Working on stretching the field. Should see growth in 2nd year) 23yrs old
Edelman (PR/Welker clone/backup) 25yrs old
Price (Still learning the system this year red-shirt year) 23yrs old
Slater (ST Ace) 26yrs old

The thing to remember is that TE's Hernandez (Almost a WR himself) and Gronk (Red Zone nightmare) look like they are going to play a major roll in the passing game unlike in year past. So the need to have a tall rangy WR to immitate Moss is not that necerssary.

The main thing they should focus on is resigning the current 2011-12 free agents to be on the roster for modest prices.
