Did not see this posted anywhere and brought a good laugh to me this morning. So, if you haven't read it, here is classic BB response to the appropriate hitting in the NFL as mentioned by NFL exec. Ray Anderson, who was speaking specifically about Merriweather.
"That would be a first for me", Belichick said at a news conference, laying on the sarcasm. "The officials are now evaluating the players and their performance. That's great. I can't tell you how much that means to me, really."

I would take a bullet for that man.

He raises the level of obfuscation to heights future generations can only look at and marvel, much like Joe Dimaggio's 56 game hitting streak.

I agree, he is the most misunderstood man in the NFL... for us he is a treasure to be cherished.

While I can't endorse any Yankees references, I do like your post!

hahaha love this

BB is simply the best. No matter how good the lines are, nothing compares to actually watching him during these press conferences. It's one of the main reasons I started downloading the pressers to watch for myself instead of reading quotes from the transcription and other articles.

one of my favourites was the utter disgust on his face when NFLN asked him "are you throwing in the season"... it was a look of are you outside your mind?

Good for him. The NFL wants to get on their high horses and make an example out of Meriweather like that, and NOW they praise him? F off!

If we're going all-time favs, I always remember when the media asked about Brady's finger injury and he told them, "I don't think it's life-threatening."

Gotta love Belichick. The day that he isn't head coach of the patriots I am going to see them as a much weaker team.
