Actually, it wasn't a personal attack. He said the threads you start are stupid. Personal would be, You are stupid. Which no one has said.

Read the thread title and think about it. It is either a stupid comment or a dismally failed attempt at humor. I think perhaps the latter, like an obnoxious six-year old showing off in front of adults, thinking he is clever but actually just obnoxious.

Yes, for two reasons. The colts demolished the Giants, 38-14 when they played earlier this season. Also, Peyton Manning with no name receivers is still better than Eli Manning with the most talented receivers. Rivers showed this weekend that even with a bunch of garbage receivers due to having his top 3 receivers out or injured, a great quarterback can still move the ball down the field. Eli Manning will never be a great quarterback like Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees, Rivers, etc.; the best he can hope for is that second tier level with guys like Tony Romo and Matt Schaub.

Also, Peyton Manning with no name receivers is still better than Eli Manning with the most talented receivers. Rivers showed this weekend that even with a bunch of garbage receivers due to having his top 3 receivers out or injured, a great quarterback can still move the ball down the field.

Peyton and Rivers are great quarterbacks. But they are only one aspect of a team. The Chargers' record is proof that Rivers can't do it all by himself. The Giants defense is much stronger than the Colts, whereas the Giants offense right now could be competitive side-by-side against the Colts offense in their current battered state. Dallas Clark is the big x-factor here.

Would have been easier to ask simply: "Are we a better team than the Steelers and/or Jets?" The way the topic was phrased had a negative connotation to it. Sounds as if the Pats are so bad they don't deserve their 5-1 record, and you can expect some backlash from that.

You could also ask "Are we the best team in football?" and you would get some honest answers without the backlash.

We were moving the ball in the first half as well but because of the turnovers we weren't able to score points. Rivers tears up great defenses on a regular basis; for instance he tends to get great stats against the Ravens whenever we play them. Rivers is a great QB, but he's only one man; he can't make up for all the mistakes that the rest of the team makes. If the other Patriots players were making these same types of errors Brady wouldn't be able to overcome them and win games either; it takes a team effort to win games. Brady said it himself during his post game press conference; the Chargers are making the types of mistakes that you're supposed to learn to avoid making in high school, not the pro level. Case in point, Jacob Hester standing by when he dropped the backward pass; should of known that was a fumble, also that receiver getting up without the ball even though he wasn't touched.
