I'm tired of reading about the Chargers and am really looking forward to next week's game, moreso than this one. I don't have any grand point, but I didn't see another Vikings thread, so I'll offer this up:

A win in this game enables the Patriots to get through the meat of their schedule with a great record. They have lots of tough games afterward especially against the division, but those division games will be tough regardless. The point is, the Patriots will only face a very injured Colts team and a tough Steelers team at Pitt in the ensuing weeks, and they should beat many of the rest of the teams on the schedule.

If they go 6-1, they can play their hearts out (and afford losses to Pitt or Green Bay or a WTF loss). If they lose to Minny however, they will be still battling for their playoff lives.

A win against Minny sets up the entire rest of the season. You couldn't really say that about wins against the Ravens or chargers. But now that they're 5-1, they have set the shelf.

Sunday hasn't even ended but I thought todays game was really pivotal...

A home win against a crappy 2-3 NFC team?

Oh yeah, they beat the Cowboys in Minny, wow? Then there was that awesome home win against the Lions......

Every game is important, but I don't see the Favre/Moss circus game as all that pivotal to the Patriots season.

The Lions are a tough out. The Pats are going to have their hands full on Turkey Day.

Every game is pivotal. You're saying the Vikings game is pivotal because it sets up the rest of the season, but it wouldn't have that much importance without previous big wins at San Diego, vs. Baltimore, at Miami...

For this week, I agree, the Vikings game is the most important game of the season. But after that game, the next game will be the most important game of the season. And after that one, the next game will be the most important game of the season.

Whenever you lose you are that much farther from the playoffs....whenever you win you are that much closer. Every game is pivotal until you have the #1 seed locked up.

They're the second or third best team left on our schedule. That's why.

Petersen, Harvin, Moss, great defense. Not a couple weeks ago, but by the end of the year, I expect them to be the class of the NFC.

How is an out of conference game Pivotal? While all games are important, the ONLY thing that makes this game special is the outcome will hugely shape the lingering Moss debate threads.

The Dec 6th game against the Jets is Pivotal for the season.

Why would the 1-5 Lions be a tough out for us?

The Lions are 9th in points scored with their back-up QB starting 5 of their 6 games, and get their entire starting offense back together for their next game.

They'll be at home during a short week and this will also be their only national game of the year so they circled this one on the calendar a long time ago.

I thought the last 2 games were pretty pivotal, but sure, if the Pats go 3-0 against the Chargers, Vikings and Ravens, even though I think all 3 teams are overrated, that'll be pretty awesome.

Ignore everything I wrote.

I want to nuke this thread but I don't want to erase evidence of what a knucklehead I am.

PIVOTAL for the secondary hopefully...LOL

Wow, lotsa love in this thread for the vaunted NFC North.

There is some slick salesmanship going on here.

It's a fun game, let's try it - - OK, I think British cuisine is VERY underated. Beans and liver pies are staples that can really warm the bones on a cold night.

If they're 11-2 going into the game, it will be important because a loss means they lose their bye. But it won't mean they've made their playoff quest more difficult.

But regardless, that game will be likely for the division title. I was only trying to say that 6-1 essentially means the road to the playoffs is paved, while 5-2, you're in for some serious battling.

You're 30 years behind the times. British cuisine has changed quite a bit. It's pretty good now.

:D Just sell the beer diet. At least it isn't Scottish cuisine, with the haggis and whatnot.

And I'm not suggesting anyone bet on the Lions either when the lines come out. But considering the Saints lost to the Browns today, and we barely beat the Bills a few weeks ago, I take nothing for granted.

That's alright - -'Any Given Sunday.......'

Yeah, in the West End of London, they have these really cool new dishes called vindaloo, biriyani and tikka masala. British cuisine HAS come a long way in the past 30 years!
