It's about time he got a pick and he's been a great addition to the team. Um, yeah that thing was beautiful. It needs its own thread.

I kind of thought about starting a thread about this very thing, but I had a bunch of laundry that should've been done before the game that I had to tend to.

Congrats to the youngster for getting his first NFL pick. He's played well all season, and it's good to see him get his first in that category. I hope it's only the beginning of what will be many more where that came from. He looks to be a permanent starter.

Yeah, that was great; he turned and picked up the ball coming in. I got the impression the SD receiver was upset there was no flag from all the contact, until he realized McCourty was playing the ball better than he did... no freebie yellow flag.

Yup. We just saw the first of what will be a long career of many more INT's. Next week is the pick 6.

Guys on 98.5 were saying how he got beat on a similar play v Jets. He learned a lesson and applied it today. Just what you want to see. Nice sticky hands too.

That was beautifully played by McCourty. Rivers kept trying to pick on him before that play and then didn't look at him again for the rest of the game.

It was definitely a thing of beauty. And gratz to Deaderick for his first pro sack too.

Daedrick reminds me of the Tazmanian Devil in there.

That was one of the more beautiful picks I've ever seen. Phenomenal play, and definitely helping to add some perspective to this whole "they should have picked Kyle Wilson!" debate. McCourty is the real deal.

He made a great play on the ball. He's been pretty solid in coverage, rarely gets beat, jams well at the line, and the only real weak area in his game up to now has been ball skills. But he made a great play last week late in the game to knock down a pass to Heap, and the INT this week was sweet. Hopefully that's a sign of more to come.

Not to be mean or nitpicky or anything, but "Um" is something you say almost involuntarily when you are thinking of what to say. Why on Earth would you intentionally write it out? It's not an actual word you know... "That thing was beautiful". That's it, short, concise, and to the point.

Heck, congrats to all NINE rookies who played significant roles in today's win.

Agreed

It looked like he was getting beat, looked up, and ran the ball down and made a great catch

It was a great play but I was a little disappointed with his performance in the fourth. He gave up the inside routes too easily on some plays. That said, he's looking like a stud CB in the making and showing something different every game.

The pick was sick, I apologize BB for screaming at the tv during draft day when it happened.

Also mentioned, Deaderick looks pretty good. How do you get a starting caliber 3-4 DE in the seventh round lol.

Those inside routes will always be there when they are in zone. The Corners job is to route them inside to the LB's and Safeties. Our LB's are still slow drop back into coverage and identify where the receivers are. At the same time you have to credit the WR for recognizing the where the holes are in the zone and getting into them.

Did anyone else notice that McCourtey slowed up, fixed his mouth piece and then caught back up to the receiver and made the pick. I was laughing my ass off when they showed the replay.

thing i love was that it was a great coverage pick 1 on 1 on a QB who throws a great deep ball. It wasn't just a random pick where it was thrown straight to him like the chung pick 6. He blanketed that guy. Anyone see if butler got on the field today?
