I doubt he comes back, didn't Lebeau do something similar though? He took the bengals job got fired and came back?

Do people want him back most people hated him when he was here. I doubt he gets fired yet. I personally would have him back

If he gets fired, I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

He's not Weis, but all he did was set records with the offense and win 11 games with the greenest QB in NFL history.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IMO weiss was a better coordinator.

WEISS had balance unlike josh who sucks at running the ball.

Maybe I am off-base but he seems too proud to come back here... he might want to prove it somewhere else.

Don't even do this. McD was hated as much BOB when he was here. Nature of the beast for an OC.

And McD so has the Broncos moving in the wrong direction that it's painful to watch. Yet most of the idiot fans in Denver still want to give him this year AND next before they can him. lol

I'd rather Bill hire Norv Turner as his OC once Norv gets tossed out in SD.

Norv can't coach worth a lick but he's got a brilliant mind for offense. I can only imagine what he'd concoct with Brady at the helm. Norv's also likely a lifer as a coordinator at this point so wouldn't have to worry about him leaving for another head coaching job in mid stream as has been the case with several of this team coordinators.

why would we want him back ... for what a year until he leaves again.

He should have stayed until he was ready ... he's a horses-ass.

Ummm . . . BB felt that, unlike Ratgini, JMcD was ready.

McDaniels did amazing things in New England, but I don't want him back.

He hasn't shown me that he's grown, and I think he would still have the same coaching flaws if he came back - a disproportionate over-reliance on the pass and shot gun, no commitment to the running game, and major red zone issues as well.

Amazing things passing the ball.

Mcdaniels was horrible at the running game

This is not totally accurate, IMO. I think people didn't like him in 2006, because the offense was a disappointment. And I think he took a lot of the blame for that SB loss.

But I think most agreed that McDaniels totally earned his stripes in 2008 with Cassel. The playcalling that year was far more balanced, and they were 8th in rushing as well. I also loved the design of the plays too. Lots of great pattern blocking type plays. Not as much emphasis on the spread -- which is what we need right now.

Incorrect.

2006 - 12th in rushing yards

2007 - 13th

2008 - 6th

Far from "horrible." He did it with a poor group of Rushers too.

First, I really highly doubt he gets fired. The Broncos had almost no expectations this year, so anything he does is a plus.

Second, no, I wouldn't want him back. I think he was a very flawed coach, and don't see how he's better than O'Brien (not to speak highly of O'Brien, but McDaniels wasn't exactly loved by Pats fans in his years here).

compared to weis he was horrible.

Weiss imo is the best offensive coordinator the pats have ever had.
