It prevents you from winning the game!:bricks::mad:

I would like to thank Kris Brown for that victory today!:rocker::rocker::bricks:

I would like to thank the Chargers for the false start that backed the kick up

I would like to thank the Chargers' mental mistakes for the win. That, and only that, is the reason the Patriots were able to win the game.

No, the coaching did NOT prevent them from winning the game.

It was the players that screwed it up.

They fell asleep on the onside kick.

Up 23-6 with 10 minutes to go, you do bend-but-don't break.

Let's get real here. It was the right call.

The players screwed up and they gave San Diego an extra possession that they shouldn't have had.

Please, let's get real. That onside kick is not on the coaching staff. The players were stuck in their cement shoes.

Belichick has not learned. Defense
Gavenup 6 points all game
So he
Decidesnto change it up.

How about introducing a new ******* Offensive Coordinator! Only a moron calls a play to hand the ball off 3 yards deep on 4th and a foot.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It was the right decision, what did you want him to learn?

Up by 17 with less than 10 minutes left, what lessons do you draw.

The onside kick was not Belichick's fault.

Not when you defense holds the best offense in the NFL to 6 points. We have a fairly conservative defense as it is but when you go to a prevent, you let teams back in games that they have no business being in.

Was this defense considered elite or something?

Overall, not a bad job. A lot to be happy about. But that second half was painful. Prevent? I'd call that the "Score on me in 2 seconds please" defense. The cushions we gave them were epic. Give credit to the Chargers for adjusting, but that's just unacceptable play in the 4th there.

Wow. What did the Patriots lose by?

Yea, I would have been scratching my head if I wasn't to busy yelling at the TV

Only on this board can Bill O'Brien be criticized again in a thread about the defense. Go figure.

I'm not going to talk about the playcall there but two players did not execute. Connolly blew his block and BenJarvus took it outside instead of inside or off tackle.

Newsflash: The defense did their job today.

If we were prepared for an obvious onside kick and didn't go 4 and out the 'prevent d' works

1) The prevent defense was the correct call. Being asleep on the onside kick is the only thing that made it look wrong.

2) We need a running scheme that can get one yard with regulity. Not having an effective short yard back or an effective fullback is not the answer. Unfortunately our best bet on 4th and 1 is the quarterback sneak or a pass.
We carry four or even five running backs. At least on should be effective at short yardage.

Wrong. It was the right decision. Tell me how San Diego comes back into the game without that onside kick.

It's on the players, not Belichick.

It was good strategy, 3 score lead with less than 10 minutes, you wind time off the clock, and make sure NO TURNOVERS, NO ONSIDE KICKS.

The formula is simple and effective. it needs to be executed. The chances of a team coming back from that deficit with a prevent defense are minimal.

Overall, one of BB's most poorly coached games in quite a while. Lucky to escape with a win.

Damn you beat to my point.. The prevent defense in the third quarter gave up on 3 points and caused a 6 minute drive..

The onside kick really hurt them..
