Rod Woodson and Jamie Dukes laugh at Tom Brady

anyone watching NFLN now? They are debating brady's place in NFL history. Rod Woodson says Tom brady "plain and simple" is not better than marino and elway. Jamie dukes kept harping about emmitt smith holding all these rushing records and being ranked below TB. Jamie Dukes was laughing at one point as well. They were essentially saying football is a team sport and brady gets too much credit for winning 3 SBs.

edit: i don't mind people saying that a certain player is better than one of ours, but Woodson and Dukes were INCREDIBLY disrespectful to TB. i have never seen any analyst disrespect TB like that in the 10 years he's been our starting QB. It's as if brady is suddenly just another a dink and dunk QB that got lucky early in his career.

I agree with this. But that goes for all players. And even if you don't like the guy, you have to at least concede that he is one of the GOAT. Just like, as much as I hate to say it, Peyton Manning.

so in essence what they are saying is that superbowls are a bad category to look at when grading NFL players, its stats that should be analyzed when deciding the best players of all time....

to each his own i guess, but if i had a choice to create a team of sb winners or of statistical monsters, i would NOT be choosing the latter

I just saw that. Rod Woodson and Jamie Dukes have always had a vendetta against the Patriots. Especially Rod. Their agrument is faulty. Emmit Smith does hold the record for most yards ever by a running back...he also played on a offense that has two Hall of Famers. Name one offensive Hall of Famer that played on the patriots when they won three superbowls. Brady was also Superbowl MVP twice. Teams win championships but quarterbacks are at the center of that. Marino can hold all of the records in the world but he never won.

exactly. montana and brady are essentially the same type of QB (brady's accomplishments a little less than Joe's to date though). they are not guys who go after stats but WINS. joe montana's stats are not impressive compared to marino's but i guarantee you he'll be ranked in the top 3.

Also Dukes never won a superbowl. Rod was old when the Ravens won the Superbowl. But in his prime or Brady's age his teams were always on the loosing side.

Tom Brady is still playing the game at a very high level and isnt going to retire anytime soon, hes already accomplished more than any other player currently still in the league, even peyton manning, he holds his own records, have been to 4 superbowls and won 3, he holds 2 Superbowl MVP trophies and season MVPs.

The WR group changes for Tom every year and he still manages to play at a high level, hes won superbowls when his defenses were great and fallen only short when his defenses havent been great, Tom carries this franchise more than any other player, it is the combination of tom brady and bill belichick that keeps this team in the elite group, but it sounds to me like neither of these jackasses would want to admit that either of them are great.

Im not too familiar with rod woodson or jamie dukes accomplishments ill admit, but if they are seriously saying that tom brady isnt anything special, then id say its a fair bet that these guys took a few too many blows to the head during their careers.

If they want to argue Elway and Marino are better than Brady, that's fine. But they are morons for finding it laughable that Brady belongs in the same discussion. Brady has more SB rings than the two quarterbacks combined. Marino especially would trade all those passing records for the rings on Brady's hand.
