Maybe I'm missing something, but most of those guys in the thread have pretty much stated that the Jets wouldn't have had any use for Woodhead, that their running back situation is the best it's been in years, and that letting him go was a good idea. I don't see too many people in there saying that the Jets should have kept Woodhead.

Now, with that said, if the Jets go on a losing streak and LT gets hurt, I expect to see a lot of them change their minds.

Woodhead > McKnight

Plus if the Jets don't drop Woody, the Pats don't capitalize and snatch up who IMO has been a real difference maker for this team.

I remember coming away really impressed from what little I've seen (no pun intended!) of Woodhead on Hard Knocks, and wishing the Pats had a guy like that. My prayers were answered.

I'd probably trade Danny Woodhead for Shonn Greene or Ladainian Tomlinson.

I wouldn't take a bag of horsecrap for Joe Mcknight however.

But most teams won't cut players they draft before a season, maurice clarrett and some of the Patriots entire draft classes being the exception.

Back to the topic at hand...the Jets DO have a better RB corps than the Patriots. Does that mean they had no room for Woodhead?

Only if you believe in Joe McKnight. Remember, McKnight is the change-of-pace back they traded up for. He's been a washout so far while Woodhead has racked up the yardage for the Patriots. But Ryan keeps raving about McKnight's athleticism, which he's shown off to good effect...playing scout team CB:
Is a New Position in McKnight's Future? - WSJ.com

McKnight is 6'0" 198 and runs a 4.40. His production has never come close to his athleticism. If a neutral team had the choice of Woodhead or McKnight right now, who do you think they would take?

Woodhead ran the 40 in 4.33-4.38 at his Pro Day. That "Little Buddy" can scoot!
