I post this because Patriot fans wanted him.......

He has a plate from college...

Fins may lose DE Odrick for rest of season

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Dolphins first-round pick Jared Odrick is in danger of missing the rest of the season with a hairline fracture in his right fibula.
Odrick, who has a plate in the leg after suffering a similar injury at Penn State, has made no progress since going down in Week 1. The Dolphins have been able to tread water while waiting for the rookie to return, but will now have to avoid injuries the rest of the way to maintain a formidable front seven. Odrick figures to be placed on injured reserve within the next few days. Oct. 20 - 8:11 pm et

Unlucky for the Dolphins!

Another injury to the DL could be REALLY harmful for the D!

FO really knew what they were doing taking McCourty instead.

At first glance, I though the title said Deadrick was out for the year and my stomach dropped. Shows how much improvement the rookie has made to actually be contributing on our D-line this year.

That sound you hear is hundreds of Pats fans hearts breaking as their binkie goes down. Boy, Connor Barwin and now Odrick...rough year for binkies.

The funny thing about Odrick was that he was a kind of anti-binky -- a "hold your nose and make the pick" prospect. Most draftniks weren't super-enthusiastic, but felt he was the best prospect to fill a big need. Barwin, on the other hand, was pure binky love. :)

So I guess it's a good thing Bill didn't draft Odrick or Hughes, eh?

Ahh, thanks for the correction Patchick. I remember so much talk about him come draft time on the board.

I wanted Odrick in the first round too. Sucks for the Dolphins. Without him, they may have one of the worst front sevens in the NFL.

What the heck is a binky?

Originally a binky was a baby's favorite toy or blanket. For football forum discussions it morphed into referring as someone's favorite player; or more commonly, a college player somebody wanted their favorite team to draft. In this case the reference was to a person or persons that wanted the Pats to draft Odrick in last spring's draft.

This is now fact.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Odrick - along with Kindle & Dez Bryant - were guys on whom many of us were uncomfortable using our 1st-round pick, either at 21, 24 or 27. Barwin, OTOH, was - or should've been - one of the biggest no-brainers for Bill to select since Vince Wilfork in 2004. Bad miss then, bad miss now.

Makes the Deaderick pick in the 7th look pretty damn good...

Bill obviously didn't want Odrick, because he had a perfect chance to take him. I'll trust Bill and settle for McCourty :D

Yeah but just because Odrick was injured over in Miami doesn't mean the same would have happened if we drafted him. I am glad we didn't btw. If we did go DE in round 1 we may have had to trade for a cb if Bodden was still injured.

I absolutely loved that pick when it was made.

Deaderick was a steal in the 7th, I expected he'd be gone by the 5th easily. The classic 3-4 guys usually go higher than expected, we really lucked out with him.

Yeah, we've really missed Barwin's stellar production...
