yeah I know ...

it's all opinion but it's still pretty cool because he was not a 1st round pick or even a 2nd rounder or a 3rd ...:cool::cool:

McCourty gets mention also.

Oakland Raiders DE Lamarr Houston is a rookie to watch - ESPN

5
Aaron Hernandez, Patriots TE (fourth round, No. 113)

Hernandez had two big drops that would have really helped his box score numbers -- and his team. But it is pretty clear that the Patriots will feature him now that Randy Moss is in Minnesota.

He's in really nice company there. It has really been a good draft class for the NFL this season.

TB Mike Williams is ahead of Hernandez:eek::confused::confused:

Mike 23 receptions for 283 yards and 3 TD's.

Aaron 22 receptions for 301 and 0 TD's.

so they are giving huge weight to TD's .... I'm not sure hernandez will be a huge red zone target ... probably Gronk now but who's complaining ... i'll take Hernandez over Williams all day long and i think his stats will eclipse williams eventually.

4 out of 10 are not 1st round guys ... interesting how that happens.

If you compare their numbers it's not even close if you evaluate for the positions they play.
Aaron Hernandez is just about a top 5 TE in the entire NFL as a rookie. Mike Williams doesn't crack the top 20 as a WR.

In fact he's the lowest pick in the top-10. Great value

Mike Williams is very good[ for a rookie], but two different skill sets between him and Hernandez.

McCourty gets an honorable mention.

That fins kid the OLB should be on that list imo as much as it pains me to say it.

I love that the entire article is about LaMarr Houston, but then they don't put Houston in the top 10. That's ESPN for you.

Kiper must be in bed with Houston's agent

after I posted... then I realized my faux pas:( I figured TD's would take the cake:(.

YAC differential????

One plays with Tom Brady, the other plays with Josh Freeman, thats gotta count for something

Well, Hernandez has 18 more yards, but Williams has also scored three TD's so far, while Hernandez has yet to score, so I can see BSPN's rational.

Both players are doing well, and Hernandez is on pace for something in the neighborhood of 1,000 yards. That is very impressive when you consider he's a TE, plays for NE, his offense features other talented receivers, and he's the youngest player in the NFL.

Well, thank goodness he's not ranked 6th. I'd be really ticked off if that happened!

I would like to know both of their YAC yards

YAC is really important to me...... If a guy like Hernandez has more YAC yards than it should not even be a competition.

A little OT but is Hernz the only player in the NFL that can't legally drink alcohol? :)

What? top 5 TE in NFL? What the hell are you talking about?
Gates, Vernon Davis, Dallas Clark, Tony Gonzalez, Cooley, Witten, and I could go on and on...
Look, I love the kid, but he has had some drops, and really can't block much, no way in hell is he a top 5 TE, not even top 10.

I think it meant 'in receiving yards'!

He is actually 10th :)
