Lol, wouldn't be surprised if Polian suspends him from the team for a game.

NDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian said the team will deal with the matter of any discipline for punter Pat McAfee after it has gathered more information.

Indianapolis police charged McAfee with public intoxication after arresting him about 5 a.m. Wednesday in the Broad Ripple nightlife district. They took him to an arrestee processing center.

"We are aware that Pat McAfee was arrested this morning and charged with public intoxication," Polian said. "We are in the process of gathering the relevant facts. When that task is complete, we will deal immediately with the issue of club discipline. Until we complete that process, we will have no further comment."

Police say McAfee, 23, a second-year player from West Virginia, had been swimming in a canal in the area.

McAfee admitted he had been drinking and asked if he could walk home, but officers arrested him instead. They say he smelled of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot and his speech slurred. He told them his shirt was in the water.

I can't believe I'm the first one to say this.........

"Our idiot liquored up kicker.................."

First the liquored up kicker, now the punter. Maybe Manning drives them to drink. They see the manning face coming out in a loss and know they are getting blamed.

OMG!!!!! Not public intoxication. This is serious. Not something minor like DUI, possession of cocaine, shooting some one, or beating your wife. He was drunk, IN PUBLIC, during the bye week. Wow the only thing he could have done worse than this was illegally park or littered.

Yeah... or be caught taking Manning's name in vain.....

I hear they burn you at the stake in Indianapolis for that. It's either that, or they throw you under an actual bus. :D

Somebody threw his paycheck in the drink.

I kinda agree, reluctantly (because a Clots player is involved). This is much ado about not much.

I actually had hoped that Bill would draft McAfee with one of his 6th-rounders last year, instead of square peg in round hole Myron Pryor. The guy has a strong leg, and is consistent, which the Zoltan is not, yet. Let's hope that Mesko can help win the field position battle this Sunday.

Yea, agree. Although, 5:AM and swimming without a shirt in a canal while intoxicated is a little more complicated.

He was waiting for a friend to pick him up. If anything, he deserves an award of some kind.

Just shows how well he can mult-task....... :singing:

Based on the NFL's record of not penalizing a DUI then he'll probably end up getting some sort of award at the end of the year for this.

When it is Tuesday night in Indianapolis, there is nothing better to do. He was killing time before the morning cow-milking.

Not only that, but instead of just sitting down waiting, he worked out by swimming in a canal. Probably deserves some type of gold medal.

I started cracking up when I read the part, "He told the police that his was in the water".

Unlike the Jets, Polian has suspended him for one game.

The dude saved it for a bye week, got hammered but knew not to drive, and went for a nice swim. All in a day's work.

This is a hypocritical attempt for the collective organizations of the NFL to act tough on drinking-related issues while suspending someone who isnt as important.

Yeah, he's averaging one punt per quarter this year. The supreme sacrifice.
