Very saddened to hear about the car crash that killed three young men and a young lady named Meggan in critical condition in hospital. The crash was after Sundays game. My prayers are for all the families and to Meggan. These type of news just kills me as a father. They were so excited for the game and now their parents must endure so much pain. God Bless them. Dear friends tell your loved ones to drive carefully and to wear seat belts . Condolences to the family of the three young men. Meggan my prayers are for you to get well. I am sure all the fans of your team are wishing you well. Abdul

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I read about this sad tragedy this morning. This is just really sad. My prayers go out to all the families involved.

I hope all they are well where they are . Best wishes

A happy day turned to tragedy ...

prayers for them and their families.

A note to all ...

Please wear your seat belt ... if not for yourself then wear it for the ones that love you.

Very well said.

I saw this article too. Very tragic and prayers for the young lady who survived, and the families of those who didn't.

Not sure if there was alcohol involved here or not, but I am always worried as I drive away from games about some of the people who get behind the wheel after Pats games. We always have a designated driver (usually me), but you have to wonder about others.

Here's to hoping this terrible accident wakes up other people out there who may be driving dangerously after games.

My prayers also go out to Meggan and to her family and the families of those that were killed.

35 years ago a fan who had been drinking drove onto the sidewalk just south of the stadium following a game and ran over a number of fans returning to their cars. I was one of those fans and like most of the others I was seriously injured. I was incredibly fortunate, my injuries healed over time and while I have a pretty bad limp I am still able to walk. While I didn't go to any games for a while, I've been a season ticket holder for about 15 years and once again make the walk along Rte. 1 to and from the satellite lot where we park.

My reason for writing this is because after each game and especially after this past Sunday's game I see dozens of people running across Rte. 1 through the traffic because they didn't think to take the footbridge to cross safely. I've even seen people with little kids running across 3 lanes of cars, many of whose drivers are undoubtedly impaired.

Please use the pedestrian bridge if you need to cross the road, nothing is more painful than these threads that are in response to a post game tragedy.

Man, first that poor fellow had a heart attack at the stadium last month and now this. :(

wow.... that is tough. I hope you issued a suit and won. Never been to a game, but I have heard route 1 is very dangerous after the game breaks.

I missed it too but google showed this.

Patriots fan in critical condition following crash that killed three - BostonHerald.com

Meggan Shafer, excited for the upcoming New England Patriots game, posted on her Facebook page at 6:30 Sunday morning: "Leaving for Foxboro with the boys in an hour! Lets Go Pats!!!"

By Monday morning, the page was filled with dozens of prayers and well wishes as Shafer remained in critical condition at Hartford Hospital after the car she was riding in on the way home crashed, killing the three other occupants.
...
Police reported that the group was traveling west on the interstate, between exits 70 and 69, when the car, as it headed into a rest area, went out of control and rolled over several times, ejecting three of the occupants. Police said none of the occupants was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Prayers and thoughts go out to meggan and her family. May god bless her.

why no seat belts??? Jesus....

get well

Yeah..... that was the part that stood out to me. The three that died were all ejected, as I read it. Meggan survived because she remained inside the vehicle.

As a parent, these things always bother me to read. Even though they were all adults, they are still someone's kids.

I read that a dad of one of the guys had given him his season ticket so that his son could go to the game. It's obviously not the dad's fault the accident happened, but that man will go to his grave feeling like he played a part in his son's tragic death. So sad.

Terrible tragedy, hope she's ok.

I was just going back looking over events from this season and came across this thread. Does anyone know how she is?

Sad story. But its to be expected after the way people drive leaving games.Heading north on 495 after games people driving 90 mph bumper to bumper weaving in and out.Its nuts
