Tonight's NFLN replay is giving some good insight, thanks to the candid conversations. After he scored his touchdown Heap came off the field and told the coach, "Thanks for calling that [play]. Because the play before that I told them I was going to score."

Sort of puts a new slant on things. Although it still doesn't excuse the more blatant head launch later, it represents BM "answering" the Ravens' "intimidation" factor.

Some softies on this board would rather have Heap walk it in on us, then bemoan the defense can't stop anyone.

Yah, we are such girly mon

I love the way the safeties were hitting the receivers for the Ravens. I agree we don't need intentional helmet to helmet hits like BM's one hit on Heap. But, I love seeing the secondary make opposing receivers pay for ever catch they make. I bet Heap and the other Raven's receivers aren't talking smack later in the game. I bet they're asking to run lots of outs.

Absolutely.

He still didn't deserve to get speared the way he did. But he should have been expecting something after that. I'm glad you pointed that out because my girlfriend has control of the TV right now and I can't watch the replay.

They were probably asking where the tubs were after the game.

Doubt it, BM said that he and Heap are friends and that it was accidental.

You have just allowed something that leads down a very slipprey slop, Grasshopper

My sentiments exactly. However misguided his tactics might've been, Meriweather had a reason to try and shut him up.

Dude. :bricks:

The Ravens came in like arrogant ****s, expecting to huff and puff their way to victory.

Oh, this isn't something that has "just" happened. Maybe if I'm lucky, she'll refill my water bowl tonight when I go into my cage for a good night's sleep.

Hard to believe on both counts, especially after what Heap said coming off the field and the fact BM went for his head twice.

Two words: man zone.

Well, letting him score, then getting a big penalty and a $50,000 fine sure showed him.

I'm not saying he was successful or even justified. Just pointing out it didn't occur in a vacuum.

To me, you stop him on the field. He was already in someone's grasp, it was a bush play IMO.

If he's running around free and you get a good hit on him, that's fine. It works both ways. Don't complain about hits from other teams, then say it's great to launch and spear a guy that's being held because it's our team. Just my opinion.

Rodney had some hits i questioned, but i don't recall him piling on or spearing someone being held, though i could be wrong, he had his chippy moments.

Not sure if your comments are directed at me or the board in general, but I never defended BM's head-first launch that drew the flag and ultimate fine. I agree that it was uncalled for. But I found the fact that Heap taunted the defense prior to his score to be significant.

It is significant. I'm glad that we have a defense that's going to go out there and inflict some punishment and payback after getting taunted. He could have went about it in a better way, but at least he showed that he doesn't have a vagina between his legs.

Mods, do promptly remove the last sentence if it offends.
