Clark Judge over at CBSSportsline had an interesting tidbit about our next opponent, the Chargers, about the quality of QBs they have faced:

OK, I'm worried about -- no, make that annoyed, infuriated and downright disgusted with -- San Diego, and it's not just because the Chargers are 2-4 against a soft schedule. It's because they haven't played a quarterback of consequence yet, and you can look it up: Of the six clubs they faced none ranked higher than 17th in passing prior to Sunday. Worse, of the six quarterbacks they faced, none ranked higher than Jacksonville's David Garrard at 13th, and he had four interceptions against them. The next best? Try Jason Campbell at 24th. Honest. Now comes the hard part, San Diego. Tom Brady is next on the schedule, and, yeah, I'd say he qualifies as someone of consequence.

No wonder they are ranked #1 in defense. They haven't faced any good offenses.

Something is terribly wrong with the Chargers. They've dominated statistically on both sides of the ball. They should be 6-0.

Call is bad luck, bad coaching, bad special teams, lack of leadership, whatever.

They really do seem like a mess. Several players holding out; Merriman gone; a coach that seems to just stand there. Ouch. That being said, I hope we go out there and get a big fat W next Sunday.

It's also their on-field implosions. penalties and poor choices. Rivers getting pissed and yelling at players on the field, etc. That's not leadership, that's being a jerk, and it isn't helpful to be yelling at folks who are supposed to be protecting you. :D

The Chargers are just not playing as a team. They are playing like 11 different players wearing similar uniforms, but not working together.

the problem is rivers is a head case. when things get tough, he bails.

Bad coaching might actually be an improvement from what Norv Turner brings to the table. . . .
