They have heart, and maybee Belichick being more involved with the D, has more to do with it.. I thought they should have ditched the spread offense a little bit more than they did, but if not for a few drops by Hernandez, we would be talking about another classic Brady game.. this was a game and the last one was another one of the 2001- 04 variety... I thought this team was dead in the water 10 points down, not once but twice, they showed me something.. The CB still need work, but the lb and the dline may be on to something.. we shall see against the pass happy rivers.. but if they leave Cleveland 7-1 goin into pitt, this team might have that special magic...

I think you are getting ahead of yourself at 7-1, but they sure showed some character today! I love the fact that we had a D step up and forced 5 punts when it mattered most, as well as some key special teams play.

I was very excited to see Mesko's 65 yard punt at THE key moment it was needed. Don't mess with the Zoltan!!!

Nah, you say that now but you'll just turtle like the rest of the chicken littles and bitter malcontents by or before midgame (thread) again next week and any week they don't pitch a shutout.

A big key to the game to me today was the Patriots ability to get pressure on Flacco on 3rd down with 3 rushers. One of those being Crable. Who would have guessed.

The defense is starting to develop mental toughness. There's nothing that builds this like winning. The game against Miami was huge for that unit, and this was a continuation.

you are correct

the D line is improving nicely, we lost a very important piece in Warren, but its nice to see many new and young faces doing very well, ala brace, and deadrick today (btw, wuts up with pryor???)

same thing goes for LB's, we are seeing the strentghs of all our LB's, ninkovich in coverage, fletcher also in coverage, cunningham rushing, crable rushing...its shaping up very nicely

mccourty and chung have been very nice surprises as well considering how young and inexperienced they are, but they are the ONLY bright spots in the whole secondary

and that is our biggest concern on defense right now, meriweather really, really, really needs to start playing ball, the guy is plain sucking at most times right now, arrington is having a lot of bad plays, cant comment on the 3rd corner, but i can say havnt noticed too many negative plays w/ wilhite

i can only dream how good this D would be if bodden were healthy, hes showing up to be our most damaging injury so far....by far

I think San Diego will be a huge challenge for us. They are desperate and should be up for this game. Obviously if Gates is out that will help us tremendously, but it will not be easy.

We do however have a major advantage in Special teams, we should be able to get atleast 7 points from teams.

Just as I predicted.

Nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal. Like a 2-4 team and a high caliber QB. We ain't out of the woods yet. Gonna need another great effort like this game today.

Really, yeah ive been negative, but this team last year and the first few weeks deserved to be it... this team will never pitch a shut out.. i state a positive me a culpa and you have to come with this.. please.. Its improving and i have to give the defense credit today, because the offense did not carry this team, because if it did it should have put away the Ravens in the fourth quarter.. The jets are still a more talented team and so are the Ravens and the Steelers, but if we are good enough to win the games we play then more benifit to us..

The last two games they were second half warriors, remember all the talk about how they could not play four quarters or finish???

Four quarters of Patriots Football is a whole lot better than 2 quarters....

Remember BB's mantra.... One week at at time. Don't look too far into the schedule. Lets get 5-1 first.

I have to agree with Mo. I understand the negativity last year, that was a bad team. However to watch the turnover that occurred on this team and all of the young bodies that were out there the first few weeks and not account for that in any criticism and now turn around and be proud and start 7-1 talk is a little hard to accept from those of us who have been there from the beginning of the season stating "give them time they are young and learning". I am glad to see you are coming around but if they continue to improve and win games then you should expect some "I told you so's" to come your way.

As stated in a prior post, 1 game at a time. Don't get too high off a win nor too low off a loss. They are going to win some and lose some the balance of the season lets enjoy the ride and see where it takes us.
